Programs are tiny in portrate mode

I am really surprised at the tiny reading and active area on my new ux50. I traded in my nx70v which I used for my medical programs, datebood 5, pictures, etc. Now, everything is about two inches x two inches. I think Sony really dropped the ball on this one. I almost need glasses to read the text. Is there something I am missing here to turn my portrate programs landscape? or can I at least zoom them?
