T615 to TJ35

Im readfing all the info about the new TJ35 and I have a question.. a nunch of the programs I have on the 615 are the special version of the sony series that use the enhanced sound and screen.. WIll they still work on the Tj35??

I just changed over from a T615C to a TJ 35 and I really like the TJ35. Since I was selling my 615, I simply synced my new TJ and chose my same hotsync ID and all my programs transferred. One problem though, I was using FastCPU on my 615 which caused my TJ to freeze up and get a fatal exception. Realized pretty quickly what was causing the problem and hard reset the TJ, removed fastcpu from the 615 and tesynced then re-synced the TJ and everything works.

Now to answer your question sort of. The screen is the same essentially but the colors are much better. all CLie hires programs that you use on your 615 should also work on the TJ with the exception of some OS specific tweaks, hacks and overclocking programs. As for the sounds, I don't know. One of the programs that transferred from my 615 was the sound Util program that does not work on my TJ.

I have read some threads about people having problems with the backlight burning out on the TJ's but I have had mine for just over a week and have not had any problems *crosses fingers*.

I assume that you're referring primarily to games, since not many other programs use enhanced sounds. I had this same question, as I just migrated from a T615 to a TJ35. I'm very happy that I made the switch--I think the TJ35 is an outstanding device for the price.

Almost every program that I've tried that has enhances sounds and hires graphics works the same (or, usually, much better) on the TJ35. I've only had problems with two programs so far:

- 5DiceCorsair -- the game runs fine, but it does not play the enhanced sounds, so it's back to clicks and beeps

- Kickoo's Breakout -- the game looks and sounds fantastic, but causes a soft reset a few minutes into playing, and then will not start properly after that. I think others have not had this problem, so I'm not sure why the game is not working for me

Other programs (Kinoma, all of Astraware's great games, etc.) sound great through the speaker and run beautifully.
