9 times out of 10, when I do a search (using the magnifying glass) i get the following error:
Fatal Alert
emul68kmain.c
line:403
Illegal Instruction 75FE at 00108900
Can anybody help me solve the problem? This is very annoying since I cannot use the search anymore.
Anybody with experienced the same?
THANKS

I've been having the same problem, but I think I've found the problem. I tried again, and after the fatal error and reset, I noticed that Acid Image had been copied off my stick to internal memory. I tried search again, and noticed that now Adobe Acrobat had been copied, too. It seems that in order to search certain file types, search "forces" these apps into RAM . . . I'm guessing that errors related to this practice. FYI, some further testing reveals that search seems to be trying to work its way through all apps on the MS . . . not sure exactly what's happening, but this is definitely the root of all search evil :)

I've noticed I have this problem when the search starts to go through my Documents to Go files... (usually after I hit 'Find More')
The error i get is just a straight "Fatal Exception"
I hope this gets patched...

an alternative for now is to use something like FindHack, which will allow you to limit the scope of your searches. You can select a search of only the databases associated with the current app or the built-ins (datebook, todo, etc.). There's also an application whitelist you can use to allow for never searching apps - iSilo searches seem to have a problem when the docs are stored on MS

Yes, using something like FindHack would be great! But what? Did you guys find a replacement for FindHack, yet?

replacement? I'm using FindHack with (almost) no problems on my NX70 to get around this problem. I'm using TealMaster as the "hack host" and other than having a very small whitelist of apps that I'll allow a search of, it's fine
