View Full Version : I am thoroughly pissed with my TJ35

I can't believe it. There is a complete flaw in this model. The first time my dad bought one for me, I loved it. The backlight burned out 5 days after I bought it. We sent it in to Sony to repair it, but it hasn't come yet. My dad decided to get me another one and give the old one to my mom when we got it back because we were going on a trip. Another 4-5 days later, THAT backlight burned out.

Does anyone else have this problem with the backlight?

Does anybody know any other models that I could get?

i had the same problem to this model is piece of u know what. I was so mad until i traded it in for the tg50 just buy paying 50.00 more. KNow i love my clie. by the way how old r u.

Had my TJ25 for a month, no problems whatsoever. Perfectly fine.

:( I hope i don't run into problems like that when i get my TJ35 this week. I will get an extended warranty just incase.
What is the standard warranty for Sony?
Is it 6 months or 1 year? :confused:

I haven't had any problems with mine either. I think it's great.

It is 90 days until you register your CLIÉ through Sony's support page, then it is 1 year.

My backlight just went out after 2 weeks and I just came here wondering if anyone else had this problem... Damn, I was really happy with it until now.

I guess I'll have to go to CompUSA tomorrow but I'm wondering if they'll tell me I have to send it to Sony or if they'll give me another one.

I haven't had any problem with mine. But now I'm really glad I bought Fry's two-year replacement warranty in case this crops up.

<stating the obvious> have you tried holding the power slide switch down for a few seconds? ( It toggles the backlight on and off)

Well, I just got back from CompUSA... If I didn't remember why I never buy stuff from there, I certainly do now. Their return policy is 14 days instead of 30 for starters.

Anyhow, now I have to find out where to send my clie for repairs. Have you gotten yours back (thunderdoom) and if so, how long did it take?
