You need to buy the official ps remote first as the ps2 has no built in ir receiver. Then you need a programmable remote like omniremote

what he said. I would highly suggest buying the PS2 remote control made by Sony. It is the best one out there and it comes with a CD to update the PS2 DVD player with a lot of convenient stuff. After you have done this you need to download a learning remote control on your clie such as omniremote (i think pronto lite is also learning). Then map out/program buttons on your clie remote. I haven't done this on my NX yet but i used to use my old N760 to control the PS2 and it worked great.

Yeah w/ominremote you can get rid of all ur video game dvd remotes. I have it programed for the xbox and ps2 dvd remotes.

The only problem with the official sony DVD remote is the included required program takes a huge chunk of your 8mb memory card...

ya that is a pain. like 2 or 3 mb if i remember correctly but i have 2 memory cards and i definitely think it is worth it if you watch on a lot of movies on the ps2

I agree, but I think people should know about that before they buy it, because 3mb of 8mb is huge. I had 3 or 4 aftermarket remotes before sony's came out...all the other ones were flawed, sony's worked perfectly.

Well, mine doesn't seem to even approach 2mb on my ps2 memory card.

P.S: btw, but off-topic, have any of you guys encounter a ps2 emulator for PC ? I haven't found any.

Shadowman and RedFaction are my only games that require big files on card (>1MB). I've got 1 card for my 37 Games but most games use less then 100 kb per safe. So if you've got less then 50 games one card should be enough for you

fidodido, yes there are a couple PS2 emulators for the PC, but they are at least 2 years from being able to play commercial games. this is for two reasons at least. First, there is a boatload of coding to do. Second, there isn't a single PC on the market today that could run the emulator fast enough for it to be enjoyable even if the emulator were perfect. So, sit back and relax, cause it'll be a long time before it gets really interesting for the general public. However, I would expect one of the Xbox emulators to hit the jackpot within the next year. To learn more about these emulators and the "scene" you can go to http://www.ngemu.com

It does indeed work. Have been using it for a while to drive my son crazy while he is watching a video.

You do still need the Sony remote adapter and software on the PS2. And, you don't get all the buttons that the Sony remote has, like the circle, cross, square, R1, R2, etc., but it works fine to control a movie.
