I like the movie recorder, but the image is very small, stamp size,
is there a way to make it larger, or maybe a better program?

Thanks

negative, unless you go through a tedious conversion process once you transfer it to your pc.

Enjoy.

You mean, there IS a way to convert the MQV files? I've not been able to find a converter. Is there a codex for the NX70V for recording to MPEG format?

Can you give me more info re: conversion. It's a pain to not be able to watch what I record on a PC. If you don't mind, could you also email me any responses to wolffen@hotmail.com Thanks.

Where's the problem? Just install the newest Quicktime and there you go. You can open and watch the movies on your PC :D

Guess the problem was using an older version of QT *sheepish grin* Thanks.

The latest version of RealPlayer (RealOne or whatever they're calling it this week) will play the MovieRecorder files as well.

mportuesi; I just tested this, and I'm not getting the same results as you - I have the latest RealOne, and all it does is offer to open it via QT.
FYI, I believe DivX player will play these files, too

Wolffen, there's a way to convert from Qucktime to Mpeg format. You need a program called TMPGENC and a plugin called QTReader.vfp to convert it. This page will show you how:

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

It's good to do this conversion if you want to store your movies on VCD and view them later on your DVD player and TV. Just don't expect the final result to be state of the art though.

Just rename MQV to MOV, but you have to use QT to watch it.

Hey CliB,

Were you successful in using the QTReader.vfp with TMPGENC? When I attempt to load the video file for conversion, I get an 'invalid floating point' error. Just wondering if it's me......

TIA

Captainao,

I'm not sure what's happening with you, but I did manage to get the latest RealPlayer to play a movie I recorded on my NX-70V.

I started up RealPlayer, and then opened the file from within the program. I was using it from a Windows 2000 machine, if that makes any difference.

That said, I still think QuickTime 6.0 is the better way to go for viewing the movies. I really hate RealPlayer.

Works for me... but i think you need the QT6 installed or divx decoder... I don't know, I've installed both...
The DIVX player works too (but with out audio), Any MPEG4 decoder can read the Clie MovieRecorder format, I think...
I test it tomorrow on my linux at work...

Well... The TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/) works if you have installed the QTreader.vfp (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html) and QuickTime 6 (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)...
On Linux, Mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design5/news.html) with FAAD Library (http://audiocoding.com/) (for MPEG-4 (AAC) audio, you have to recompile the MPlayer for support this audio encoding) works perfectly. The QT6 codec is recomended but not necesary.
