MS backup works fine for me, except for when i forget to backup my NX. is there a backup program that does automatic daily backups?

1. BackupBuddyVFS
2. PiBackupII
Both of these do auto backups. I am currently using BackupBuddyVFS, but used PiBackupII for quite a while when I was using a MemPlug adaptor for a Visor Neo. PiTech developed the MemPlug and PiBackupII came with it. I miss PiBackupII, but BackupBuddyVFS is nice too. If your a more techy type I would go with PiBackupII. If you aren't too techy I would go with BackupBuddyVFS.

I have used PIBackup in the past and had trouble with it when I moved to an NX. Now I use Backupman. It is a simple to use back up program that works great.

I'm using JBBackup to do scheduled backups to the MS AND to Flash.
I have an MS backup scheduled around midnight each day, and backups to flash at midnight and noon. The flash backups just contain my most critical datafiles in the event of a hard reset or a user error. Of course to access Flash you will have to have JackFlash as well.
The MS backup works really well. I've had to restore once and the unit came right back to where it'd been backed up. Speed is good too, backup of 11mb takes around 45 seconds for me.

JBB does NOT work on the NX the last time I looked nor does Backup Buddy VFS. PiBackup wasn't even reliable when I had the NR.
I used PiBackup II with Visor and purchased it immediately when I got a T665. It works very well, and I have not experienced any operating problems.

Card Backup is excellent and incredibly reliable. Also works flawlessly with MSMount, PiDirect, etc, which are a problem for Backup Buddy VFS. Card Backup also allows you to keep up to 8 backup sets, with automatic BU replacing the oldest set. I own both, but couldn't handle the conflicts Backup Buddy had with MSMount (one of my favorite apps). If you don't use MSMount or the like, Backup Buddy does have an encryped backup option, but seems to only allow one backup set. I like to keep at least two, in case I inadvertently backup a screwed up system.

Just use powerrun and it will keep any program you use on ms updated. Now all you have to do is send the shortcuts to the launcher dir on your ms and a reset won't harm you (Except for ROM based databases[They are in RAM I know, but the programs that create these are in ROM]. But these get hotsynced anyway)

Do any of the mentioned programs restore your Clie' including your hotsync name from a hard reset? I've only tried MS Backup but the one time I needed it for a restore, I got stuck without a hotsync name. So any program requiring my hotsync name for registration was essentially crippled.

PiBackup II will do this. It has saved me when I have had to do a hard reset.

Backupman works great and lets you restore individual files.

I use Backup Buddy. I have it set to make a backup to my MS every day at 4:00 am (so I don't have to worry about it starting when I'm in the middle of using it). As far as the question quoted above, there is a copy of the BB software on my MS. If I hard reset, I run BB from the MS, restore and am up and running.
Plus BB even saves ALL settings--even those that don't normally get saved when you do a HotSync. And it comes with a conduit that creates a backup of all of this data on your PC when you do a HotSync--double the protection.
BB can be found at Blue Nomad (http://www.bluenomad.com).

I am of the extra careful type person and would recommend setting a backuptime sometime you are not sleeping. Just in case something goes wrong and the backup hangs...leaving your Clie on. Unless you leave it in the charger, there would be no problem. Just a suggestion.
