Damn, they screwed it up. The Info window still says it's Agendus 6.0 Beta Build 277.

I think, since they only allow Iambic mail to show up on the 'Today' screen, they should allow you to turn that option off if you don't use it. It would look better. One, there are a LOT of people that don't use Iambic mail, and two, there are a lot of people (myself included) that choose not to read email on the PDA.
See at the bottom?

Under the Today mode, you can press the small option icon at the lower right and un-check the Email option.

It's a shame it costs $10 to go from 5x to 6. Guess I'll pony up the upgrade cash but I won't be smiling while I do it :(
I agree about the Iambic mail thing. It should not show up unless you have Iambic mail -or- they should have it work with other popular e-mail apps. Somewhat under-handed way of boosting Iambic mail sales don't ya think?!

That is messed up. There's no posting in their forums about the release. I'm still working to fix my background bug in 269. Anyone using a T615 with this build?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

They still have yet to fix the bug where the "Split Screen" agenda view option forgets the position of the task and appointments windows the second you change to a different view and come back. It used to work fine in older versions of ActionNames, but it has been all sorts of screwed up since version 5.
I also have some sort of the background bug issues when using the new "Today" view. For some odd reason, Agendus shrinks my backgrounds so that they are only around 25% the actual size of the screen, and centered... wtf? I tried every option, and I always get the same result. Pretty much renders the new background feature useless. It should be noted that I am using this new version of Agendus on an NR70V device.
The new "Task Due(?)" view still leaves junk data on the bottom of the screen when paging down, and then back up to the top of the list. This was an issue in the beta that apparently still has not been fixed.
While much better then the betas of version 6 that I have tried in the past, it still feels like a beta none the less.

Well even if you uncheck it, it still shows.
The thing's still a tad buggy. On my Clie NX, after changing the prefs in the today mode, all bars (menu bar, bottom option bar) have disappeared! They only come back if you change views (the bars are still there, but they just don't show).
Iambic's going to react quickly to this if they don't want to get flamed to death :p

All throughout version 5, they've experienced bugs upon the releases, and I certainly have experience those. Someone asked in Iambics Agendus forum when were they planning on the final release of v. 6. The reply was something like when all of the reported bugs were fixed. Hhmmmmmm......

Funny how that split screen happens to some people. on my T665, ever since i've used actionnames/agendus since version 4, i've never had that problem, i minimize the split and it stays down, never once has it poped back up with out me doing it.
As for the wallpaper, you have to make your image at 320x260 resolution. Agendus talked about this in the beta forums but wrote 320x320 on the final page i have no idea why.
But yeah, if you do 320x260 it'll be perfect.. why because the today view has the toolbar on the top and bottom so the picture needs to be shrunk to 320x260 and it'll be "fullscreen" all the 320x320 pictures i've tried turned into a real small dinky picture.

I don't want to pay for a beta unless I am told in advance that that's what I am buying. Unfortunately it's too late for me now.
Beta... Beta... Beta... Are we getting paid by Iambic for testing their wares?
I am having problems with going full screen on my NR70V. When I tap the "down" arrow my V/G area disappears and leaves a white area, and the Agendus bar with "1", "7", "31" etc. stays in position. This did not happen in my previous version. Anybody else here experiencing this?

V6.1 will remove "Beta" from the info screen! :D I love everything about this new version except the "Today" view. I much prefer the split screen. The "Today" view is still buggy. By the way I tested email on/email off and that view comes and goes away just fine. But for a Today view, since I own Wassup, I'll stick with that because it's beautiful and easily skinable.
Question for all: Do you like/use Agendus 6.0 with "High Resolution Display," Large and Bold fonts selected? It looks nice but is a little hard on the eyes (at least my old eyes :D ) and the icons are harder to distinguish. I'm into the icon thing! :D

What size does wallpapers for today view on a NR/NX to be resized to. Obviously, 320x480 does not work. My pics are minimized and also colors are set to only a few (maybe 256). any clues?

iambic is one of those developers who tries to cramp as much and as quick as possible every new features under the sky into their product, in the hope of releasing them as a major release, thus creating publicity buzz and attracting new customers (can you say "the Microsoft model"? ;)). On the other hand, they are very very very VERY slow in squashing bugs left behind in prior releases.
Sadly, this actually sells. :(
I have been following up on Agendus since the ActionNames days (version 3.XX) and tried out every major releases. I have tried very hard to like it - the interface display in the screenshots are very nice. Unfortunately, EVERTIME I do I uncovered bugs/problem (display element dissapearing and reappearing at the wrong places, inconsistence display element due to poor or quick-dirty programming techniques, error in the montly/quarterly calendar display after 2002, etc...), and this really put iambic as a questionable developer in my book. And ever since the domain name registration fiasco, I have since stopped even bothering to try evaluate ActionNames.
Maybe that's why it's renamed Agendus :D.
There... it's out of my system. ;)

I'm still having quite a hassle with this new version of Agendus :(
If I try to put a small (not full-screen) background on the today view, it's fine. But as soon as I try with a full-size, 320 x 420 GIF, I get the following error:
Cannot process the file:
/PALM/Images/fonds.gif
Memory is full or data is unsupported or corrupted.
wtf... ? the memory isn't full for sure, and the gif image is ok too. I can open it with any image viewer on the Clié...
And look at how my today screen looks... all bars are gone...
Any hints ?
Thanks !

Gripe of the moment: they closed the beta forum so that now all of us who had open bug reports listed had to manually transfer them over to the so-called final forum.
And does anyone think the new icon set looks like cr@p? They're all basically logos. Now I'm off to go find icons...

I'm quite peeved that:
1) They haven't told the beta testers that the new release was available, and
2) They want testers to email them a list of links of all their messages to qualify for a free upgrade: they should know those people and mail them their codes directly.
However, I thought I'd try their way and compiled a list of all my posts to the beta test board to see how they respond. I think v6 is worth getting and I'll not wait for iambic to decide whether or not I qualify for a free upgrade - I'll pay my $9.95 and get it anyway. And since I'm paying, I feel quite justified saying I'm unimpressed with their approach.
I did some testing for TinySheet a few years back and they still expected me to pay for the upgrade. At that stage, I found a better product; TintSheet is now back at the top of my list and I use it. I beta tested Agendus 6 because I wanted to see if it was worth the upgrade, and to stand a better chance of getting my own ideas listened to; I've achieved that aim. However, I wouldn't recommend anyone to beta test iambic products just to get a free upgrade.

Not to defend Microsoft but Windows is a OS with innovative software that with each release gets better with development. Agendus is nothing more than a glorified Address book and Date book. Do not get me wrong I like Agendus but to charge for a upgrade is a rip-off. The idea of making your product better is to attract new customers not to trap your existing ones into the purchase of a little better version than what you already have. If they where to release a newer version of OS for Palm I would be the first to buy it.

After a soft reset, the Today background will be gone. You have to set it again, and this is really time-consuming and not so convenient.
BTW, is there anyone out there knows which file (name) is the background after it's been set?. I cannot find it anywhere on my SJ30, but I do know it takes about 100k space.

When I create a 320x480 [420] .gif it works fine. By default GIFs are 256 colors which look crappy as a background photo. The funny thing is that the same pic in AcidImage looks 10 times better than the Agendus background. For this "today" background to catch on they have to fix the LowRes look!

I prefer the split-mode to the Today view and rather than have to toggle back and forth, I programmed the address hardware button to toggle between Agendus and Wassup, so when I'm looking at split-mode and want to see a "Today" view, I tap the address hardware button and whalla! I am still demo-ing (is that a word) HandButton for this feature. Wassup has some nice backgrounds higher than 256 colors and not in Gif format, I think.

Yes, this was my complaint earlier in the thread. "Hi Res" really only applies to the ability to have smaller fonts and use of the screen size. Everything else is still Lo Res. Not sure why Agendus couldn't pull of "True Hi Res" for the main application graphics like Splash ID or SuperNames, etc.
DBIcon+ is definitely a lo res icon editing application, (you are even told to disable the Hi Res Assist preference in order to use it to make your custom icons.)

Sunshine -- I made a couple of gifs for my T665c from Yishow backgrounds (not original) and they work fine. If you want to try them out, I uploaded them -- Go here:
The one I like is the "sun" one, it looks sort of like a hologram on Today page, due to the 256 color scheme.

it's a lot lighter than it looks on the PC monitor, of course.

Sunshine, I don't know either, unless there's an off chance that whatever program you're using is throwing something odd in when you make the gif. I'm using the Photoshop gif export function. . .
But my background is holding through soft resets too (someone else mentioned losing the background after a soft reset). . .
So maybe these problems have something to do with incompatibility with some hacks, launchers or other system tweaks?
