Use ImageConverter to put them onto your CLIE

This topic seems to get covered almost every couple of days. Here's a thread that explains the correct directories and file names to use for playing back MPEG's on the Clie. http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22665&highlight=mpeg
Also, how come MQV is a bad format?

Actually, I find MQV to be a great format. It seems to work much smother than MPEG. For example, I ran a little comparison test some days ago; I noticed on the MPEG Video, fast movement seems to cause "pixel clipping". It doesn't look awfull but I've noticed it. But the absolute worst thing for MPEG's on my CLIE (and I do emphisise "MY CLIE") there's an error Message that pops up. I forgot what it says. but..It's an Error! While on the MQV's....The Opposite. Just Smooooooth Playback and no Error Messages. Besides. You're Better off converting movies anyway (i.e. Kinoma DB format) a very small amount of video and sound Quality is lost but it'll save you some space.

well, mainly the only reason i don't like MQV is that they are usually such low quality files, and i am just used to that, so when i think "mov" i don't think of quality. my favorite has to be AVI, but MPEG is not bad either. i guess i just don't like them because they just say bad quality to me:P

MQV are as good as the quality you put in. If you put an MPEG4/AVI file into ImageConverter you'll get something similar out. If you put in MPEG1, that's what you'll get out. It can't add what ain't there.

To me sony converter is better than kinoma as it provide better video compression.
BTW, kinoma is the only software that I really regret to purchase it.

Probably need to find an MPEG-2 codec for VirtualDub or something. You usually have to pay for it though as the MPEG-2 format has royalties that need to be payed.

well, just an update: my problem was that the file name i had was "MOV0005.mpg" and the .mpg is case sensitive...MPG's are anal:P
