Under the Prefs section on my NR70 is a section called "Shortcuts" containing things like
br - Breakfast
di - Dinner
ds - [Date Stamp]
Apparently this is some kind of hotkey abbreviation system.
I simply cannot figure it out!
Since it is customizable I would love to use it. Anyone care to point this one out to me?
When you first enter the shortcut 'loop' in graffiti area, then the letters for the shortcuts, it fills in the rest of the word/s. You can create some of your own as well. I don't know how to explain what the 'loop' looks like - see your manual.

In the shortcuts section of Preferences, click "New", then under "ShortCut Name" enter the shortcut text you'll have to write to get the full text of your shortcut to appear. Example: I like to have the phrase "Check out: " as a shortcut, since I'm always creating a todo such as "Check out: new program for tracking travel plans" etc. So under "ShortCut Name" I put a "z" (without quotes). Then under "ShortCut Text" I put "Check out: " (again, without the quotes). Click OK and you're done.
Now to invoke this shortcut, I graffiti the shortcut character then the letter z and "Check out: " appears.
To see what this shortcut character looks like, access your built-in graffiti help, and it's shown on the second page. If you don't have the help set up, you can go into preferences, then choose buttons at the upper right, then tap on "Pen" at the bottom. Now set this feature (vertical swipe of the stylus) to "Graffiti help", click OK and you're all set. Access the graffiti help, and on the second page is an image of the shorcut character, sort of a fat, looping "L" character.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! The little loop was the thing I was looking for.
Is there a way to generate the loop from the keyboard????

On the Palm keyboard, there's a Fn key- combo that gives you the shortcut loop. BTW, some describe the shortcut loop as a lower-case script "l". Presumably, there's one on Sony's, too. (I'm a IIIc user salivating over the SJ33 for an upgrade.)
