Deleting read only files on my PDA

Can anyone tell me how to delete read only files on my PDA?

1. Install Filez5.22(free). You can get it from www.palmgear.com
2. Open Filez, select the file you want to delete
3. Tap Details->Attributes, uncheck "read only" or "Copy protect"
4. Tap "Save"
5. You are ready to delete it.

Or you can just go into safe mode, which is easier???
