As you're posting this in the CF forum I guess you already know that it's possible....?

Well, I can see that its possible to do mp3's, but I was planning to store my videos on there because that is what takes up the space. I havent found a forum that explains how to, maybe I havent looked hard enough. But seriously, what did sony want the consumer to use the cf's for? I cant think of anything but multimedia that would take up 128mb or 256mb.
Like its so much work to "hack" it so you can play mp3's off the CF.
I am going to get an NX73V, does it not only work with the NX70V, NX60 etc? Or all clies with cf slots?

Watching a movie on my CF as we speak...your right, you didn't look hard enough. Seriously, everything you need to be able to record movies and voice to CF, listen to MP3's and take pictures directly to the CF, ect...is in this forum. Good Luck!

You are missing the point. Right in front of that nasty CF card is a slot for another media type, a very proprietary media type. Sony owns memory stick technology. Memory sticks are about 50% more when you get to the larger capacities. Sony knows that you want their PDA, so they using that client base to increase their memory stick sales. What were they thinking?? MONEY. Had they had their own wireless card created by the time the PDAs came out (instead of using the intel card) do you really think that the Communication Slot would have been of the Compact Flash form factor?
On the other note about getting the CF slot to work on your PDA, it is a lot less difficult to do than it appears. Pelaca made things very easy for the NX70/60 and the NZ, while Mini did a great job of working the 73/80 apps.

But damn... cause I got a 256mb card for $77 CAN, and the 128mb memory stick is $70, so obviously, I got the cf cause I thought I could use it as easily. I'm still going to keep it, but really... how can sony be so greedy. The most important thing is to make the customer happy, that is what will bring them comming back

Cause sony get's much more money from the MS market than from the CF market.
And if you read the product description you can read, that sony never intended you to use the CF for anything else than the Wifi card.
So basically it is your fault if you buy a product and want to use it for something it is not intended for and run into problems.
For myself, the CF-Slot on my NX70 is great. I use the hacked drivers and love them. The only downside is the crashing if you want to forward or rewind if the movie is still running, but most times I do not have to forward or rewind and if so, I only have to remember to stop the film first :)
The thing I hate most about the Clie is the reset-button. Why can't they make a reset-button that you can use without needing to unscrew your stylus, i will never get it (and don't tell me that this is so that you don't accidentally press the reset, there are many other ways to acomplish that).
