Hi everybody!

I am a real newbie to Clie's and I have a problem opening pdf-files. :(

As with swf I noticed that the files have to be stored in a particular
folder on the Clie to be able to open them.

How about .pdf-files? What folder do they have to be stored in??

I am using the Adobe Reader for Palm OS.

Thanx a lot for your help and sorry to bug you with such
"newbie stuff" ;)

Cheers
Livia

If you installed the PalmReader for Palmos from your PC, there is a conversion program to convert pc pdf files to palm adobe reader format - yes, adobe still is not able to make a reader for palmos that reads native pdf.

Do they have to be stored in a special folder on the Clie???

Thx for your help

Yes, Palmreader and Adobe Reader for PalmOS are different programs, but I mixed them up myself and meant the Adobe Reader for PalmOS.

So if you installed the Program on windows and hotsynced the application itself you will have an Icon labeled "Adobe Reader for Palm OS" in your startmenu.
Use that to transcode normal PDFs to Adobe Reader for PalmOS readable PDFs.

I had the same problem with Adobe Reader for Palm OS.
I thought that a pdf file was posible to read also from the handheld device.

They must be in a format that needs to be converted before you can read them on your handheld device. To do this you need a program that will convert it in ".pdb". What converter you will need will depend on the original type of file that you want to convert, and the reader that you are going to read it with on your handheld device. As there are many readers and many fomats, there are also many converters. Generally most readers come with their own converters unless they are purely intended to be used with the generic Doc format.
More info at this link http://www.handebooks.com/converters/

I have also tried Palm Raeder. It works fine. You can doawnload from this link http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com/

Palm Reader "basic version" is free.

I think that with Adobe Reader for Palm OS you need to use the hot sync process, where the file will be transformed in pdb, but i cannot be sure about this becouse i have some problem with hot sync... it doesn't work....always ask for Usb driver.!!!

You got Doc to go with your Clie' I've upgraded a few times, but it reads pdf files. I know that the one that also has pics-to-go reads the pdf files.

I'm saying I don't know if you have to up-grade, because I upgraded so long ago, I can't remember if I did it prior to the upgrade.
