Problems with TMPGenc

How do I change settings on TMPGenc? Everything is greyed out and I can't change anything? Trying to convert .avi to .MPG for viewing on my 1GB CF Card.

I posted the above message and would like to let everyone know I am now registered for the forum. Sounds like a wealth of information, if a bit overwhelming.

I am new to all this and would appreciate the advice of you pros.

If I remember correctly you have to bypass or exit out of the setup Wizard in TMGEnc to manually adjust the settings.

Actually, I turned off the wizard but still everything is greyed out. I was able to go into "GOP Settings", as described elsewhere on these boards, which helped with the choppiness at the beginning of my videos.

Everything plays fine, but it is all at 29.97 fps and 1150 bit rate (or whatever - I am sure my terminology is off). I know that I am basically just wasting space and would like to go down to 15/575 as discussed elsewhere.

If anyone knows why I cannot change the TMPGenc settings, PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try right clicking in the name of the setting you want to change, it should give you the option to un-lock it.
