Hello,

I just saw on the specs that the Nx70 can't play
Variable bite rate Mp3 files ???

What the hell is going on ?

Is it because of the hardware ? could we expect a upgrade of the software to support VBR ?

Could someone give me an explanation on this ?

Not sure why, but wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an update. Likley will never happen.

Very simple, Sony is pushing it's proprietary ATRAC3 music format! This has been evidenced by the fact that Sony came out with new personal ATRAC3 players, without mp3. The only reason Sony offered mp3's in the first place was that no one wanted the ATRAC3 format and it wasn't selling!
