Has anyone else had problems transferring music to the NX series? I purchased an NX70V and have found that I can not transfer music directly too it via RealOne. This functionality was possible with an older Clie model and worked very well. It seems to require the use of Magic Gate memory sticks now?

When I put the device into transfer mode and then attempt to transfer music to it in RealOne it just tells me it can not find the memory stick.

When you start transfer on the clie it will add a mounted drive on your pc. You can just drag and drop your files in the the /palm/programs/msaudio directory

You can also use windows midia player or musicmatch jukebox to transfer files as well as some free products.

Magic Gate memory sticks are for Sony's ATRAC3 proprietary format only!

I use my NX60 to play MP3. No problem!
1. You have to install to you PC "MS Export" application.
2. In build-in Clie's Auidio Player choose Menu->Option->Transfer...
3. Open the new disk drive from "My Computer"
4. Go to the PALM\Programs\MSAUDIOO
5. Drug and drop your MP3 files.
6. Tap "Exit" button on your Clie, and confirm "Ok".

Listen the music in your Auodio Player, enjoy!

P.S.: for ATRAC audio files you have to use white Memory Stick, not purple.

works fine using CDex 1.30 (mp3 ripper) and ms import using a normal mem stick.

I got one 3MB mp3 onto my memory stick - but it seemed to take a LLLOOONNNGGG time! I started it by doing all the below and then went for a walk since it seemed to take more than 10 minutes the first time and it still was not done. I came back and it said it was still in transfer mode - so I gave up detached the MS with the software. Lo and behold the MP3 was on the M Stick and works fine.

Why does it take so long and why doesn't it tell me when it is done?

(edited from Dimitri's post)

I did not install to my PC "MS Export" application
1. I opened mymusic (where the mp3s are)
2. In Clie's Audio Player I chose Menu->Option->Transfer...
3. I Opened the new disk drive from "My Computer"
4. I went to the PALM\Programs\MSAUDIOO
5. I dragged and dropped my MP3 files.
6. I did not Tap "Exit" button on your Clie, and confirm "Ok" because it said it was still transferring - even though it was no longer moving on the screen.

Maybe skipping step one made it not work right?

Thanks for any feedback.

I am surprised that it works at all. MS Export is mandatory, even if you don't use it.

I can transfer 123 mb in just a couple of minutes, if that. So, yes, something is seriously wrong.

I always use MS Import and move my files manually, although going through the audio player, essentually uses the same circuit.

Wrong!

Regular MP3s work fine as well.

I got mp3s to transfer to my mstick - this is what worked for me:

edited from Dimitri's post: "Music on your NX"

1. You have to install to you PC "MS Export" application. I did this and then did not know what to do with it once I opened it.

2. In build-in Clie's Auidio Player choose Menu->Option->Transfer...

3. Open the new disk drive from "My Computer"

4. Go to the PALM\Programs\MSAUDIOO

5. Drug and drop your MP3 files. from mymusic file

THEN I HAD TO WAIT ABOUT A MINUTE FOR IT TO LET ME DISCONNECT THE HARDWARE ON THE COMPUTER.

6. Tap "Exit" button on your Clie, and confirm "Ok".

Listen the music in your Auodio Player, enjoy!

Your right, it came out wrong, I was trying to emphasize that Magic Gate was only needed for the ATRAC3 music format, otherwise it works just fine for everything else!

Thanks for pointing it out ;)!
