I'm trying to convert and watch one of my DVD's on my TG50. My first time! So far, I managed to successfully convert a DVD to AVI, and Image Converter has converted the movie for me, and installed the file onto MS. The movie shows up in Movie Player, but when I try to play it, it skips from the beginning right to the very end! I am able to position the slider to any point in the movie and actually see a paused image, but it will not actually play. Any thoughts?

I think the issue with the movies skipping from beginning to end might be audio related. Did you compress the audio when you went from DVD to AVI format. If so, you will need to reconvert the AVI file to have uncompressed audio as the Image Converter doesn't handle audio compression right. The file size of the AVI will be huge, but the Image Converter will compress the audio to the correct format when transfering to the Clie.

IC needs uncompressed audio in order to convert correctly for the Clie. I've created DivX files using SimpleDivX with 6ch AC3 audio. Virtual Dub is saying there is no Audio Decompressor to access the audio, thus it is unable to convert the DivX file for me to use with IC. HELP!

You need to select Microsoft ADPCM. If none of your systems have it, you'll need to download the CODEC. Most systems that have a windows media player have it.
Hope it helps, Bev.

If you read the old post, you can see there is a thread about AC3 decompression.
You need to d/l AC3 decompressor from following url:
http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM/index.html
Then you can select other compression in VirtualDub.

Do you think the audio could be the problem on a Video that totally freezes instead of skipping?

Up to IC 1.1, ONLY un-compressed or Microsoft ADPCM can be used as source's audio. If not, video can't be play in CLIE or sometimes freezes.
