Is anyone using their UX to listen to Audible.com material? I downloaded thier updated player which works great but......I can only download files to main memory. The Audible Manager can read from my MS but it hangs when I try to download a file to it. If I physically move a file from main memory to the AudibleAudio directory on the MS, the player cannot find the files.
I have contacted Audible but still no reply.

I download directly to my card. A bit slow in the download but works fine. Click "storage card" under audibleplayer for Palm.

I believe there is a UX specific version of Audible Player.
email them at betaprogram@audible.com and ask for the link to it.

I have the beta program and have selected 'storage card' - still craps out and transfers only a few minutes of the file.

You have the Sony Beta? There is a different beta for the UX. Either way email them and let them know the problem. They are still working the bugs out of the beta I'm sure. Hopefully they can get back to you soon.

Well...I did find a solution - kind of. It seems if you use USB sync to the MS the transfer does not crash. If you use WiFi, it crashes. I have emailed Audible and am awaiting a reply.

The saga continues...
I got the beta working fine (with the USB cable) and now Audible releases a new version of Player and Manager. The new version is suppose to communicate directy with the Clie (without hotsync).
I am able to transfer one file at a time before it crashes both Manager and my Clie. After a HARD reset and restarting Manager, I can transfer another file....sometimes. It sounds like they have some work to do on thier comm protocol. I spoke with customer service and they have no suggestions but they said they would work on the problem and get back to me.
Anyone else having these problem with the new version?

I just got into this...
1) You do have to transfer cards through the USB connection... For some reason it DEMANDS that. I wish they didn't, but at least it moves faster than the normal hotsync transfers do.
2) You must move the books through the audible manager. There is a reason for that. It seems that the manager allows you to move any PORTION of the files, not just the whole thing. But it does need to keep track of where you are in the book. I think that somewhere in the transfer it is keeping track of this. Moving it directly to the card bypasses the procedure. Thus if you have VERY large files, you can transfer as much as your card can hold.... starting one file in the middle and ending another early. I REALLY like this feature.
I found the procedure very confusing at first. You have to get the audible software activated on the connected UX50 and then you have to ENABLE COMMUNICATIONS before the PC Audible manager can read the device. If one or the other software isn't done right, no connection and no transfer.
I also had a problem the other night when I left my UX50 semi active and it drained the battery down low -- it lost track of the audible files somehow... Even though they were still on the card, you had to dump them off and re-download them to get the Audible software on the UX to acknowledge them there.
I've also noticed that sound quality degrades GREATLY the higher the volume output. When patching it into my car stereo, I've had to set it for fairly low volume and just turn it up on the car stereo. The tone is far to harsh elsewise.
Once I've gotten the hang of transfers, I've not had any crashes at all. I did have one time when the software locked up and I was forced to reset.
I have noticed that Audible does Kill the Hotsync manager after activation, especially once a connection to the machine is successfully made and the device is read. Something to remember, because you might find yourself having to reactivate it.
I believe they released the new version on the 14th - so If you don't have THAT version, you might wnat to check them again for it...
