Hey, anyone know how to completely erase the clie memory so it's ready for replacing a clean backup?

and.....does anyone know how to configure what packages or .prc files get replaced on the hand-held when you restore the data?

I can't find a way to do that anywhere in the Palm Desktop software.
(i've got a bunch of apps/games that i don't use that keep getting reinstalled from the backup on the desktop).

Thanks!

A hard reset will restore the Clie to what it was out of the box. As for restoreing files... the Clie directory on your PC has your user name in it. and in that directory is your backup directory... you can remove , I suggest move to a safe directory, the offending files... when you hotsync they will communitcate because they will be gone... I have left this direction vague on purpose because if you do not know what you are doing you will swack your clie.... I use the export feature of the desktop program to save my addresses, dates, memo, and to do files...

after it you have to set everything in hotsync to "desktop overwrites handheld" and it will restore everything back to the point of last hotsync before hard-reset
