eCost deal?

Did any body jump on the deal at eCost for the Lexar 128meg Memory Stick?

I remember they offered a $20 rebate back in December when I bought mine (two). Now they are refusing to pay the rebate and are saying Lexar's rebate was only for $10.

I think I am getting ripped off and was wondering if any one has got that rebate. The current rebate form is from 1/1/03 to 3/31/03 and is for $20.

Who's refusing to pay the rebate? eCost? It isn't their job to pay the rebate, it's Lexar's. And the rebate is for $20. You just have to send it off to them.

I am having a similar problem. I turned in everything for my rebate several weeks ago. Yesterday I got an e-mail saying that they did not receive the UPC symbol from the actual memory stick. I know I sent it and will find the copy of it I kept if it is the last thing I do. I hate rebates for this very reason. Anyone know the number to the FTC?

You are correct, Lexar is refusing to pay the rebate, but it was eCost that posted the $20 rebate, who is now saying it was only $10 per MemoryStick.

I did everything I was suppose to do, except after I got the MS in the mail and went back to eCost to download the rebate page, the deal had moved to a new set of dates, excluding my purchase date. In other words, they are saying that if I had waited one day, I would have qualified for the $20 rebate, but now am only entitled to the $10.

Go to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) website at www.ftc.gov
I can't remember the exact URL but they have a page about rebates and you can file a complaint.
