View Full Version : New NX73 ... Missing Conduits?

I'm just getting started with my new NX73 (replacing the T615) and I can't figure out how to sync the Notepad, Palm Photos, and Voice Memo apps.  It must be possible since there are buttons to view them in the Palm Desktop.  There are no conduits in the HotSync Manager for these apps.  Please help.

Thanks.

Oddness. I'd go for the obvious question and ask if you've got the latest, greatest, version of hotsync manager?

Also, since I'm asking obvious questions, what's listed under 'Custom' (in hotsync manager)? I _think_ palm desktop (why in the world are you using that thing btw? I can't stand it, prefer syncing to MS LookOut!) has an option to re-register conduits for the stuff it handles. Have you worked through the menu options?

:)

I may be mistaken, but I don't think we get conduits that sync with the voice memos and palm photos (possibly 3rd party options, but not.on our Clie cd).

You can back them up or move/transfer them from your cf or ms to your pc and view and listen from your pc.

I think the same holds true for the notepad, though I believe there may be 3rd party software for this.

The problem I have with that is that, just like the Date Book, ToDo, Memo, and Address, there is the ability to view and edit these other apps in the Palm Desktop.  If there were no native way to Sync these apps, why would there be a way to manipulate them on the PC with the Palm Desktop?

Here's a current list of my HotSync conduits:

Date Book
Address Book
To Do List
Memo Pad
AvantGo Connect
Documents To Go
WorldMate
Install
Install Service Templates
Install To Card
BackupBuddy

Does anyone with an OS5 device have conduits for Note Pad, Voice Memos, and Palm Photos?

Thanks for your help.

Add Splash ID and Wordsmith instead of D2G to yours and you have my complete list also.

As I stated before, unless you can find 3rd part apps/conduits, you can get to the the info on your pc from your backup after hotsync, from your MS or CF through Data Import or use a MS or CF reader to transfer it on to your pc.

Perhaps someone else can comfirm this for you.

It makes sense that the HotSync Manager wouldn't pull data from the MS, but how can I use the Palm Desktop sub-apps to view this information?  I can only imagine that there has to be a way, or why would the Palm Desktop sub-apps be there?

Does anyone have any insight into this?  If there's no way to do this, then those sub-apps within Palm Desktop are useless.  Why would Palm put them there is they cannot be used?

Thanks for any help.

I have just discovered that the sub-apps in the Palm Desktop (Palm Photos, Voice Memos, & Note Pad) have never resided on the Clié, are not included, and therefore, obviously, cannot be synced.

I thank you all for your advice and help with this.  There has been a lot of time put into this, and all for naught.  I'm a bit embarrassed now, but I guess I'll survive.

It's all good Isa43J

I tried to give you the info in my 1st post "you can get to the the info on your pc from your backup after hotsync, from your MS or CF through Data Import or use a MS or CF reader to transfer it on to your pc.", but I guess I could have phrased it all better.

I use a multicard reader for my CF and MS to use with apps you mentioned.

Glad you've got it figured out though.

Have fun with it.

You did tell me that, but at the time I guess I didn't put it all together.

Thanks again for your help.
