does this clie support? I currently have 256megs cards.

Also besides the memory stick slot .... what size flash can I put into the other slot? ( the larger one.)

Does it support memory installed here or only perifierals like my 56k modem I am using with my clie.

Get the biggest MS you can afford.

If you want to use the CompactFlash slot, you need to buy a separate driver.

I have a 1 GB Memory Stick in my NX70V, which is the largest size now on the market.

I think the largest storage available in the Compact Flash form factor is 4 GB (IIRC, IBM/Hitachi announced a 4 GB MicroDrive some months back). I don't know what the largest solid-state CF capacity is. As UZI mentioned, if you want to use the CF slot for extra memory, you'll need to get a driver -- either the Athena CF Enabler (from Athena America) or CF Magic (from PDAscent).

Or the hacked one (check the first post in the compactflash forum) which is for free and works nice too.

4 GB solid state CF cards are available now (http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/main_item.asp?id=964589183) and cost as much as a small country.

1GB CF, coupled with 512M Memstick is looking pretty ok value for money while keeping things useful (not all apps will see the CF card in an NX70)

Think about what else you might use these cards in - especially if you own (or plan to buy) a digital camera. I have a Sony 717 and so have to use memeory sticks - the 717 lets me use MemStick pro so I will probably look at getting a 512Meg or so and use the clie with a bigger CF card to transfer images off while in the field so I can kep taking photos.

your memory options are basically unlimited
you can't screw up (unless you get some incompatible microdrives or get an SD card instead =p)
all types of memory sticks and solid state CFs should work with it

I have till now only tried CF cards from SanDisk, are there any other vendors which are compatible? Besides DeadFish: the bigger the CF card the more it drains the battery some guys have had issues with 512MB cards. And a 1GB microdrive of course will drain you all the way down.
