That's kinda odd there Kevin, the AudioPlayerSkin file is in ROM on my NX70V. What type of Clie NX are you using?

Verify you actually have it present (and only one copy) by looking for it under 'clie files' (or, much better, 'Filez')

I have 3 audio player files on my clie (NX70V/U)
AudioPlayer
AudioPlayer_MS
AudioPlayerSkin
but i still get an eror saying "Cannot find Audio PLayer skin database"

Bugger, that's me out of ideas then... You done pretty much exactly what I did, resulting in pretty much what I have...

About the only thing I can think of is to confirm that there are actually four AudioPlayer files (there must be two copies of the prc ('AudioPlayer'), one in RAM, one in ROM, after you installed Pelaca's version. While we're at it, double check which of those files are in RAM and which are ROM, perhaps you've somehow overloaded the default skin with a new, corrupt, one. Which file borwser are you using? (I find clie files doesn't show everything)

I filtered for all files that start with aud and it gave me the list that i had earlier then i checked the rom bog there are some extra files here is the full list can you see if im missing something?
AudioPLayer_MS (RAM)
AudioLibrary (ROM)
AudioPlayer (ROM)
AudioPlayerSkin (RAM)
AudioPlayer (RAM)
AudioPlayerSkin (ROM)

When you bring up the list of Filenames on 'PalmCard' (the internal memory) it has icons for what kind of file it is. An IC icon for ROM stuff, a couple of pages of text icon for the Backup Bit, a padlock for... um readonly I think...

You can get the full filename and the version by selecting each one (one at a time) and hitting 'Details'

In my case, I have:
AudioLibrary (ROM) v1
AudioPlayer (RAM) v31
AudioPlayer (ROM) v30
AudioPlayer_MSAp_appl_a68k (RAM, temp file created by OS5 for each app)
AudioPlayerSkin (ROM) v22
SonyMMUtilLib (ROM) v1
SonyMMUtilLib (RAM) v111
SonyPlayListLib (ROM) v1

Compare lists, maybe we'll get lucky and spot something.

I've broken my AudioPlayer in a few different ways in the past, but never managed your error before :/

I have a /G btw, perhaps there is a difference in library versions or something...

Ah, that looks pretty promising. You should be able to delete the RAM version of the skin ok.

If it won't delete, start up in safe mode (hold 'page up' while pressing reset, release page up when the logo appears), hit control H on the keyboard to bring up the launcher. Then delete the offending file.

Great! BTW, where did you get the skin from? I've never found any AudioPlayer skins before.

Actually, you did have the temp file, it was the AudioPloayer_MS file you mentioned - the name just got truncated by the file lister :)
