Dear friends,
I have Clie T-615C and am new to this forum. I want to get a memory stick for my Clie and want to know what are the sizes available, links to sites where they can be purchased. Does one have to buy only Sony memory stick or some other manufacturer is fine too? Which models are compatible with Clie T-615C?
Please pardon me if these questions have been asked before.
Cheers,
MK

As long as it's a MemoryStick, the make shouldn't matter.
I have a couple of Lexars and a Sony and they all work the same.
For the T615, you can have anything up to a 128MB MemoryStick. The MemoryStick Pros are a no-go.
I bought mine from CliePlanet (Or PDA24 or whatever it's called now :P).
There's also a 256MB MemoryStick Select that works - this is essentially 2 128MB sticks in one, and you have to flick a switch to swap between the two 128MB spaces.

If you decide to get Sony's audio adaptor (PEGA-SA10) for your T-615 that allows music playback functionality, there is one Sony-exclusive memory stick that you'll need if you want to record music in Sony's ATRAC format (Codec originally designed and currently in use by all of the MiniDisc recorders out there), it's the MagicGate memory stick, it's a White memory stick. It can be used as a normal memory stick for data storage, but it is more expensive than standard memory sticks (Sony's are always purplish-blue). If you get the kit, MP3 format music (as opposed to ATRAC) CAN be stored on standard memory sticks. If you're not going to use it for music playback, just get the least expensive memory sticks that you can find, as mentioned previously, 128M is the limit for the T-series or you can get the 256M which is actually 2x128M with a switch on the unit to choose which side of the stick you're accessing. Welcome to Cliesource.

Sony's website selling the sticks have pretty good deals every now and then. To my experience the price displayed is not always right, pick the item and head for the check out and if there is a "hidden" sale going on you will see it as final price before you buy the item online.
I had a 128MB for my T-615C before I moved to the T-665. The 128 worked well and I use to use it for carrying documents and all. Using the 2x 128 with my T-665 and I like the two sided thing. Holds a good amount of songs and I can use the other side for documents.

I also use the MS in my Clie for transferring files between my work desktop Clie and my home laptop via a PCMCIA adaptor. However, I have noticed that although my laptop will recognise a SanDisk brand 64M MS, when I plug in a Sony 128M MS, it thinks it's a new piece of hardware and searches and fails to find a driver for it. Very frustrating.
Anybody else had ths problem with different brands of MS ?

Do T665 users run their launchers from their MS to save memory. I use ML (don't want to re-start which launcher is best war) and it gobbles up 2151 k. I have moved most stuff to the MS and have only 1.3megs left. Is there any thing to be concerned about ?Thanks.
