I downloaded the program FileZ from Palm gear and see that OVER 8MB is designated as ROM. When I got it I remember that I had about 11 MB available. Any ideas why this number is so high?

Are you sure you're not confusing rom and ram? Ram is where you store files and applications, rom is where the palm os operating system and built in applications are stored. You cannot store files in rom without jackflash.

16MB of ROM is available
16MB of RAM is available(but only 11megs is actually user ram since the other 5 megs is used as "heap" memory for internet and things of that nature)
use Jackflash and Jacksprat to change the Rom and Ram spaces.
do a search to find out how to use those programs

JackSprat is the only I app I know of that can remove anything from ROM, and it is not compatible with the NX60. JackFlash does work though, and allows you to take advantage of the free space that is already there (something like 4MB I think).
The earlier OS5 Clies (all NX's, TG50, NZ90) don't support the OS5 sound system. So, any OS5 audio applications (like AeroPlayer) will not run.

thats a kick in the ***.. are there any hacks or anything to get around it? (because the NX and NZ are the only os5 with CF slots >_<)
