Ok so yea I am human and miss an appointment alarm every now and then set on my clie.
But you would think that this clie would shut itself off after a good 10 minutes of no confirmations or snooze button hits.
All it seems to do is sit there "On" and wait for my instructions.. and kill the battery.
Are thier any sony updates for this malfunction of the alarm?

I don't think it does that with mine... maybe you have some 3rd party software causing this? Cheers

my NX70V turns off after the timeout set in preferences after an alarm has gone of.
I, like pdasrock, guess, that you have some other software on your pda causing this problem.
The hard way to test is to make a backup with msbackup, hard reset, enter an alarm and see if it still acts the same. If it now works like it should you have a problem with a 3rd party app.

my clie is set to auto-off after two minutes.
In addition... sometimes when the alarm goes off... I flip it open and the screen is black... and no matter what button I press the alarm continues. This has happened with the "hold" button activated or NOT!
I have no other third party software that I would think could effect the alarm on this clie.

It still may be a 3rd party app that is corrupted!
I had a problem(not with alarms, but soft resets) and it turned out to be a corrupt version of DateBk5.

I'm having this same problem. It must be a 3rd party program because I have not always had this problem. It's just a matter of finding out which program....

If anyone with this problem is using Ak AppLog, you might try disabling or deleting it to see if that helps. I'm using a new program called MagicMind that pops up a message whenever you turn your Clie on, but it wasn't working properly - until I got rid of AppLog.
I don't know yet if it will take care of this problem (I plan to watch it over the next day or so), but because AppLog is always "listening" in the background I can see how it might interfere with alarm function.

It must be a thrid party problem or your not setting something right iin peferences. The hard reset suggestion shoulds like the best step for working out what it is.
