I installed Intellisync Lite so I could use the Nokia Phone Suite, which allows my 7210 to sync with Outlook. Upon installing Intellisync Lite, however, the ability to sync with the Palm Desktop went away - the only option I could set was to sync with Outlook. I had to uninstall Intellisync Lite in order to regain the ability to sync with the Palm Desktop.

Is this correct? Is there no way to choose whether I want to sync with the Palm Desktop or with Outlook without having to uninstall and reinstall Intellisync Lite?

Thanks,

Bill

You are correct that you cannot sync with BOTH apps at the same time, though you don't have to fully uninstall to switch between them, you can just change the conduit settings from within Intellisync. You also don't have to sync all of your data to the same desktop PIM. Ex: you can sync only your contacts with Outlook and the rest of your data with PalmDesktop.

Quite frankly, I much prefer Outlook to PalmDesktop, but I am mindful that this is a personal preference issue. Interestingly, this is the topic of the Capital District Palm User Group (www.cdpug.net) February 20, 2003 meeting in Albany, NY. :-)

I now find that when I go to Intellisync Lite Configuration and either uncheck sync to Outlook, or change the sync destination to <none>, that a HotSync simply skips the datebook / addressbook / memos / todos. It doesn't revert back to Palm Desktop unless I fully uninstall Intellisync Lite.

Any ideas?

I found the same thing to be true. Once intellisync Lite is installed, you can't sync with Palm Desktop. The documentation for intellisync Lite says you can. According to the documentation, you simply select Palm Desktop as the conduit instead of Outlook. However, as you noted, Palm Desktop is not an option. The only options are Notes 5, 6, Outlook, and none.

Surprisingly, even the picture of the available conduits in the intellisync Lite manual shows the same options (Notes, Outlook, and none).

I would rather use Palm desktop for my address book because working with Outlook and the thousands of names I have takes forever.
