For those of you who don't know, Bearded Toad just seemed to disappear for a long while, then came back fairly recently and released Buglord. Before they disappeared, their site said that someone had stolen the PCs they were developing games on, and I assume that's the reason for the huge delay.
I bought the pre-release of Filthy Pigeons from Bearded Toad back in early May of 2002 with an expected release date of May 2002, and they STILL haven't released the full version or even updated the beta. They now claim that they're working on a rewrite that will work on OS5. I understand that they may have struggled a bit after their PCs were stolen, but this is seeming more and more like vaporware. I paid for a game that was fairly cutting edge for its time and is now pretty crappy. At the time I bought the game, I had an m505. I now have a T3, which is 25x faster when overclocked, has 8x the RAM, and 6x the number of pixels. Somehow I don't think I should be paying the same price for software that's an incredible 1.5 years late.
On top of all this, I am completely unable to contact them. Their support email address simply bounced, there was no response from the sales address and they have now deleted my post in their forums. I was originally requesting a discount since it's been so very long, but later tried to cancel my order since I still haven't received anything whatsoever. Both failed miserably. Perhaps they have a different attitude with Buglord, but I would avoid buying anything at all from Bearded Toad.
