I can BT hotsync with the PC, but I can't BT FTP a file to the UX50. I have BT enabled and active on the UX50. I get a "cannot connect to the remote device" immediately on the PC when I attempt the transfer. Again...BT is ON, on the UX. Also, if I try to expand my Device in the Bluetooth network neighborhood, I get "no services available". Anyone know how to configure for BT FTP?

I've been having the same problem, there was a thread about an ftp program a while back, wonder if that were installed if it would take it then. You can BT web sites because they are associated with a program on the palm, that might be the key, the association with a program.

you may have to configure your bt for internet access. that's how i got ftp working on my ux. if you're using windows 2000 you can use internet sharing. try doing a search on the ux-series forum i remember there being a thread involving surfing with the ux50 using bt. good luck! :)

I don't think configuring it for internet access is all there is to it, I have had internet access for a long time with it and when I try to send something like an excel file, it looks for services and then reports that there is no FTP service available. I do have Tinysheet on the palm so at least there is a program the 'might' understand a excel file. I just tried that vfsftp to no avail, it still says no ftp service available.
thanx

i think the reason why ftp file transfers via bluetooth don't work for the UX models (same with my NZ model) is that it doesn't have the ftp protocol built-in with the bluetooth hardware. my NZ90 only has the OPP (Object Push Profile) for e-mail and such but that's about it. you cannot simply transfer files using ftp between the UX and a PC, although you CAN use SmbMate to transfer files between the two but that would require a Bluetooth internet connection (internet sharing) with the PC.

i noticed my T610 does have it, when i have it paired to my PC using my BT USB dongle, it shows "Public Folder" or something and has a series of subdirectories like "Themes", "Ringtones", "Pictures", etc. on my PC, they're categorized just like normal Files/Folders in Windows. therefore, i can add/move/edit/delete files on my T610 without having the phone with me (but nearby for BT of course).

i wish there was a Sony update that could resolve this on our Clies....
