Here are some statements of my findings regarding converting Xvid AC3 Avi file to MQV.
.) ICv1.0 does not support Xvid video, need to convert video stream to DivX;-) Use (VirtualDub*Video*Compression*select divx) Also, select Full reprocess mode or Fast Recompression. If you are using ICv1.1, some say it support Xvid, hence, just use (VirtualDub*Video*Direct Stream Copy)
.) IC does not support AC3 sound, need to uncompress it. Also, VirtualDub does not natively support AC3. Install AC-3 ACM Decompressor by fccHandler from this site. http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM/index.html (Now, VirtualDub can read AC3. (To install, just unzip, and right click on AC3ACM.inf file*hit Install from the menu. Read simple doc if you don't get this.) Thanks to dvdrhelp.com, I found this.
.) Now in (VirtualDub*Audio*Compression*select No Compression PCM). Also, select Full reprocess mode.
.) Now create a new (DivX/PCM)AVI file. (VirtualDub*File*Save As AVI)
.) The newly written (DivX/PCM)AVI should now be able to run thru IC.
.) You should know the rest, if not, search and read other helpful post here. Enjoy.
