Yipes!

For some reason my battery drained yesterday (something to do with alarms and Datebk5 and that infernal Hold button - some combination just locks it all up!)

So I recharged it today and pressed the Datebook button -

The screen came up a "washed" white and the LED indicator flashed orange several times - after my I recovered my heart off the floor, Datebk5 came up and the LED turned green.

Everything "seems" to be back to normal.

Can't find my manual anywhere - does anyone know what the flashing orange means and has anyone had a battery drain and noticed any difference??

Thanks for any help

Do you mean that your power light flashes orange in the same way it would flash green if you tried to power up your Clie while in hold mode?

If so, it has happened to me a couple of times, but not when my battery is draining. Both times it happened while the powerline regulator to which I have the craddle pluged to, starts working due to low power conditions or a scheduled self-test.

I don't know what it means either, but maybe is the Clie's way of complaining it's not getting enough power to charge the battery? I dunno, but I haven't noticed any harm one way or the other.

It doesn't take much of an error to kill the Clie! For example, Colorize caused my Clie to go into a fatal reset loop with a flashing white screen. Yes, I agree, it stops the heart for a few! It's a possibility that it took a few for it get it's sanity back after hitting a critical discharge point. Who knows what POST routine it went through. If everything came back, I wouldn't worry. I would try to ascertain why the battery drained in the first place.

Interesting - I have Colorize as well, but haven't had any problems. Did you stop using it?

I'm sure it is something to do with alarms, because I've always had problems when I wasn't around to answer the alarms - the stupid thing would always lock up, and sometimes I was even forced to resort to a "soft" reset. I know that it has to do something with having the "hold" button on when an alarm goes off - but because I carry it around in my pocket a lot I need it set to on....

There was a post earlier (last Fri. I think) about problems with Alarms on the Clie and the light coming back on...I'm hoping they'll be some fix down the road.

But let me know about Colorize...I really like it, and would hate to have to get rid of it.
