I baught a used Clie NR70 a few weeks ago, worked fine! Last night I dropped it:( . It works... but, on each side of the LCD screen (1/8" on one side and 1/4" on the other) is white/clear. On the rest of the screen there are VERY little black vertical lines. On the rest of the screen I can see what is left of the screen. The touch part of the screen, wether I can see it or not, works. Any suggestions on how to clear this up? Also the rotating hinge for the screen is a bit loose now.

sound like a wire may be loose, Take it apart and check the wires going to the screen.

I see two screws on left and right top (hinge area) of LCD. Take those out and separate LCD?

So I pulled the screen apart, looked (nothing out of place), wiggled a few wires, looked ok. Didn't help:mad: So I called Sony, it's $175 to replace the screen (their tech's Dx). Can I replace the screen? Where to get part, instructions on how to do it... OR... the last resort will be to trash this one and get another one. HELP!

I have the same problem, with my NR ik the 'tablet' mode, I'm missing about 1 and a half centimeter (I'm Dutch, so I count with the metric system :P). I'm also wondering how to fix this, without having to buy a complete new LCD screen, the I'll rather buy a completly new Clie (the UX for example). I'm too afraid that if i screw it open myself, not knowing what to expect, I'll mess it up and never have it running normal again.... Is there someone who has done this before and can tell me (/ us) what's the cheapest way to fix this annoying problem?
