I downloaded a video in divx format, (it's a 2.4 GB dj tiesto concert) and i'm having problems getting any program to see the audio track. i can play it in winamp3 and hear the audio and see video, but when i try to open it (in every program i've tried) it says it can't see the audio track..:( i've tried using virtual dub, all the sonic foundry programs, including sound forge, vegas video, and acid 4. I have no idea what to try next! i want to convert this to my clie, but only parts of it. i just need to capture the audio, even if it's seperate, and save it as like..a .wav file. Thanks for all of your help!

thank you! it says it's a 5 channel audio stream. so i'm not sure exactly how to go about decompressing that, but i'll figure it out.

Thank you for the help!

djpm05,

check out the thread Xvid/AC3., I'm guessing the audio is AC3. Uses VirtualDub with the AC3 decoder to uncompress the audio stream to PCM and do a direct copy for the video stream. Process the two stream together would alleviate you from the sync headaches I dealt with.

Hope this helps.

i'm still having some problems with converting. when i do everything in the other forum and look at the file, it's still considered 5 channel audio. do you have some utility that can convert that to stereo?
