i am planning to upgrade my stone age usrobotics palmpilot to a clie PEG-SJ33/H.

i am running os9.2.2 and palm desktop 2.6 (which could be upgraded to 4). would i be able to transfer datas from my old palm to the clie? i read somewhere that it might be possible not having to get the missingsync software with os9.2.2, is this true? will there be problem transfering email, photos, mp3 (itunes) from the mac over to the clie?

this is quite an investment for me so i would like to have something that would be compatible. please help! thanks

if you are going to sync a clie with os 9.x you need to get missingsync (www.markspace.com). it is the best $30 investment you will make. It will allow you to sync, mount memory sticks on the desktop, transfer mp3s, etc.

one word of advice. make sure you have updated both the palm desktop and os 9.x to the latest versions. then sync the old palm pilot. then install missing sync. then sync the new clie. everything should have transfered (except email - you will have to install your email program on the clie first)

that should do it.

Be careful about updating your Palm Desktop software. MissingSync for OS 9 uses Palm Desktop 2.6.3. MissingSync for OS X using Palm Desktop 4.0.
