I started having this problem yesterday, when I HotSynced I got this message saying in the log that the todo list didn't sync and it said I needed to erase some todos, so I purged and still no response, then I started messinf with the settings on my computer and I put handheld overwrites desktop instead of syncronize, and all my records in my computer got errased, so then I changed it back to syncronize and still no response, though the log message doesn't appear anymore, and when you look at it it says that the todo did syncronize, please help, what can I do????

I found one thread on it, but I am sure there was another that had a fix.
Congrats on your Senior Membership:)!

I had a similar problem just last week.
If the error message in the log looks like "Desktop = 100, Handheld =1" it may be the same problem I had.
In my case, some program (which I haven't tracked down yet) kept creating a file "toTO2" with a Creator code of "todo" and a type of "dat". Deleting that file fixed the problem. Apparently the Hotsync process kept trying to sync with it instead of the correct database.
I used McFile to sort all my files in RAM by the creator code. There should usually only be one file with a creator code of "todo", which is the the ToDo database "ToDoDB". You can use McFile to move any other files you find with the creator code of 'todo" to the Memory Stick and then try HotSyncing.
That code is supposed to be reserved by Palm for the built-in apps, so whoever is creating that file is violating one of the most basic rules of Palm programming.
It took me a whole day to figure this out in my case, after several hard resets, desktop reinstallations, etc..
If I can figure out which program is doing this, I'm going to send the author a bill for 8 hours of my time. I rely on my ToDo list and this seriously screwed my day up. Obviously, I'm still a little ticked off :)

Thank you so much man!!!!!! you saved my life, I also had a similar file, it worked perfect, I'll tell you my list of programs installed to see if we can find the app responsable for this:
Acid Image
Agendus
ComicGURU
Devil House
HandZipper
Iambic Mail
ICQ
Java HQ
Jot
Mobipocket
Netfront
NXMovie Aide
OKey
P-I-M
Palm MSN
Web Pro
Zap!
ZLauncher
The only program I think that could have done something like that is Agendus, but I've used agendus for about 8 months and never had that sotr of problem before, I hope this helps to find out who was causing all this trouble.

I was having the same problem and using the solution posted above by Hobart, I was able to fix it.
I found 2 files withe the todo creator named "tdNM" and "tdTO2"
comparing the list of files to that of bernbass , i have only the following in common :
Acid Image
Agendus
Iambic Mail
NXMovie Aide
OKey
Web Pro
ZLauncher
maybe this will help to narrow it down ?

I had the same problem, but to narrow the list I have only three of the now smaller list: BTW, did someone, in another thread, mention the NX Movie aid people as making a program called Power DA that was creating the to do file. Could Movie Aid be the problem?
NXMovieAide
Okey
Zlauncher (uninstalled now).

Glad to help :)
We've got these in common:
Acid Image
NXMovie Aide
OKey
ZLauncher
I also have PowerDA, that was mentioned by blue_wind. I've actually seen both "tdNM" and "tdTO2". At this point, I think both NXMovie Aide and PowerDA are the main suspects. I've had the others for a while without any problems that I noticed....

OK, I played around a bit to see who created who:
NXMovie Aide -> tdNM
PowerDA -> tdTO2
Both have creator/types of todo/dat, which is the same as ToDoDB, the To-Do list database, which is a no-no.
If you're having problems syncing your ToDo list, check for these using a file manager like McFile.
As of now, both the offending programs are ejected from my NX70 :)

Okay, so I have deleted the NXMovieAid program. Do I have to replace or manually delete file using MCFile. I am still having the problem. I do not see any of the offending files, but I may not be looking in the right places. I have done a warm reset, but no reinstalls.

If you're still having problems Hotsyncing your to-do's, then use McFile to search for any other files in RAM with "todo" for a creator code (other than the ToDoDB file, of course) and delete them also, as well as the original programs.
That should do the trick.

Hi,
I'm very sorry about this problem. It hadn't come up in beta testing, but I have fixed it in the latest version of NX Movie Aide.
