WoooooHooooo. I can finally use my schools WiFi network. I think. If I get this, what would be the first step. More specifically, what info would I need to get from the administrators or whoever?

How come no one responds. Isn't anyone else excited about this or even care. I know people have wanted this.

I've been using PalmVNC personally... how does this differ?
Most schools and some businesses use VPN. You have to use what they use or you SOL. The PalmVNC software would only allow me to acces my computer and server and such. How is that anything remotely close.

I've used the beta and it works great. But I'm not excited. It's $30. I can't afford that. I'll wait until my beta copy expires, then I'll do without. C'est la vie.
Sweet! You can probably tell me what I'm going to need then, right? I want to get it but I want to know what I need to do before I download it. What information do I need to ask for? How is the setup? Can you give me the down low?

I hope someone can help me with this.
I am trying to install the trial version of Mergic VPN on my NX70V. I hotsynced the installation file to my device, and clicked on it to install it. It gets to step [3/3] of the installation, then this message pops up:
"Installation Failed:
Mergic VPN failed. Reset you handheld then reinstall the MVPNInstall PRC file and try again."
I deleted the files, reset my handheld and installed it again, but it didn't work. I tried downloading the trial from other sites (like PalmGear) and it still has the same message.
I'm wondering if anyone can help in any way, or if others have experienced the same problem.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Doesn't there have to be a 'server version' of the VPN to encrypt at the other end of your connection so that the data is secure when sent both ways? Not that I know Jack**** about this! Will this help me with getting the IT guys to let me access a corporate mail server...?
I had the same problem. I did a softreset. The button on screen to reset seemed like it was frozen. After the reset it was fine. I took it to area in my school with WiFi and tried to connect. I entered the IP Address a school website gave me and tried to connect. I was able to connect but keep getting a "username or password is incorrect error(####)". Well, that sucks. But, good news. I was able to find a MovianVPN that my school uses that I'll be able to install this afternoon. If it works I'll post where I got it and how to use it. I know if I want this there has to be some other of the 30,000 members of ClieSource who want it too:D

You're correct. A VPN client such as Mergic's is only of use and value if you have a VPN server to connect to. For example, my company provides all employees with access to the company network thru a VPN connection. From home, any one of us can establish a VPN connection to the office and then this VPN connection becomes a tunnel for us to get back to the company network. In principle, it's just like a dial-up connection on Ethernet. The choice available is the protocol that your VPN server supports. Mergic supports PPTP but there's also IPsec and other proprietary ones.

Hello! I was asked for an VPN client recently - but before making a suggestion I want to know, what VPN-client you prefer.
It will be used on several UX50s - I personally own a NZ90, but in the moment without VPN-client - the users should connect via WIFI to the enterprise-network for data and sync emails.
thanks in advance,
