Dictation app ?

Hi,

I need a good dictation app that will replace the voice recorder in my clie nx70. There are many dictation app for Pocket pc but I did not find any for the Palm OS. Voice recorder does not allow pause, insert, overwrite, and deleting (part of a recording). Does such an app exist?

I have complained about this for a long time. How hard is it to make a freakin' pause?!? The palm voice recorder has at least this feature, and can organize the recordings. Unfortunately, the Sony sound API is kept secret by the company, so don't expect any new voice recorders from 3rd parties (none that I know of, at least).

Cliepet was making an SDK a little while ago, I think it included sound. With that a developer could probably make an app like this

I looked at cliepet site and the API for voice recording is not reliable according to the author and the quality is not enough for what I have in mind... i.e. to import the wav file for recognizing with Dragon Naturally speaking. I guess I will have to buy a PocketPC...

TOO BAD PALM AND SONY. Not having this possibility makes the other world more appealiing to people who needs to dictate - like physicians. I am VERY surprised to see that there is no good app capable of doing it while about 80% of PDA's used by MD is a palm OS.

i agree. i tried the voice recorder with a simple dictated paragraph with the mike on hi sensitivity and what i got was really not readable.

i guess i have to try to alter my speech patterns

As an attorney, I spend a third of my day dictating, whether on the road or in the office, and this would be very useful. I too am disappoited. Don't they realize there is money to be made in this?
