Just sold my Tungsten C because I was looking for something smaller. Went to best buy and on a whim I bought the new Sony TJ35. Seems nice, looks nice. Working well. I do like the jog dial but the screen does seem a little dull.
Any thoughts on it vs the E? I am mainly a business users with some minimal games. More into the email, outlook interface, scheduling and contacts and appearance.
Your deepest thoughts are appreciated.

Pro T E
1. Tungsten E comes with better software: improved PIMs, and the full version of documents to go.
2. The screen is much brighter than the TJ35 (there was somewhere a thread with pictures comparing the brightness of the two).
3. The T E has more memory available to the user (28 MB vs 23 MB n the TJ35).
4. Finally, the T E is cheaper than the TJ35 (the difference here in the UK is about £40, which is almost $70; I think the difference in the US is smaller).
Against the Tungsten E
1. no universal connector, so if you have already peripherals that need that, the Tungsten E is a bad choice.
2. From what I have read the casing of the Tungsten E is not as good as the TJ35. Some people have reported that the T E gets scratches very easily. I have my tungsten E now for a few days, and did not have any problems yet.
3. The TJ35 is a bit faster (200 MHz vs 126 on the T E), but if you are not into gaming you might not notice the difference.

Also Pro T E (and Anti-Sony)
If you are coming from outside the Sony world, you will need to invest $$ in Memory Sticks. If you have SD cards from your previous Palm, you can reuse them in the T E.
This is THE one major case that I personally have against Sony; noone else uses Memory Sticks. Unless you buy the higher end NX series which allow **limited** use of CompactFlash cards, you are basically stuck with Memory Sticks.

Not to mention the 6 different types of memory sticks there are. Memory stick (and duo)
Memory stick pro (and duo)
Magicgate (also a duo version)

So far, I haven't found "the perfect" PDA. I've been all over the Pocket PC world, and the Palm world as well. I'll really latch onto a feature of a particular PDA, then something else will make me return or sell it. As of now, I'm really happy with my TJ25, but still wish I had waited for the 35 just for the extra apps and internal storage.
I'll never be completely happy!

Don't forget the Memory Stick Select 256mb (2 x 128mb). There is also a 128mb High Speed/Magic Gate duo. You almost need a program to tell which is which. Try www.memorystick.com (http://www.memorystick.com/) for more info.

I am gona go ahead and get two 40 dollar 128 sticks instead of a 100 dollar 256, it is cheaper, and i can designate one stick for music, and the other for work

Bought the E. Screen much sharper, like the feel of the Clie and the look but had to go with the more business stlye product. As the group has stated the E scratches way to easily. I am truly thinking of taking some light sandpaper to it and make it brushed all around.

Better make that Very Light sandpaper then! or you'll end up with a lovely brushed white plastic look, which although very minimalist, isn't too business like :)

I would suggest not using any abrasive at all, a previous poster (Schmitt, I believe) tried the light sandpaper approach and ended up with a very ugly T|E!! The T|E is just a light coating of metallic finish over plastic!

I think the Tungsten E just feels cheap. I picked one up to test it out, and it felt like a toy. No wonder the paint pretty much falls off.

Both Tungsten E and TJ35 are crap.
The perfect PDA, in my opinion, is the Tungsten E in the TJ35 *form factor*.
When Sony buys Palm next year, a model like this will happen.

I do like the song form factor. If it wasn't for the screen I would have kept my sony.

I personally don't think the TJ's are crap, but look at the price of both the 25 and 35...it's the particular "zone" they're in. You're not gonna get a titanium case on a PDA for that price range.

Personally, if TJ35 had the Tungsten E screen and stylus, those two things would be enough to get it immediately.

My screen is not that bad, but no it's not as bright as T\E. I do hate the stylus though. But that is not enough for me to get rid of it.

The review on CNET (shopper.com) is very stong AGAINST the TJ-35 and in favor of the T-E.
I'll be shopping right after Christmas. At this point I'm leaning toward the Palm rather than the Sony. Why buy the TJ-35 for roughly $50 more if the Palm T-E is a little better product?
The draw back for me (being a SJ-30 user) is that I have a Sony Memory Card.
Blessings,
Steve

Ege, true, but TJ35 does have a slightly faster processor. That's really what increases the price of it by $50 over the Tungsten E

Application performance tests (not benchmarks) usually say that the TE is, to the surprise of many reviewers, faster than the TJs.
The OMAP processor must be optimized somehow. It even has a DSP inside. Playing warfare on TE is definitely faster than my NX80.
