NZ 90 questions

My zire 71 just got stolen, I became interested again in the NZ-90 after some of you it is offered at bestbuy for 420 although the website says 799 (Wonder who is right ???)
My question is: As far as I know, the NZ90 has a TV out so that you can output the screen contenet onto a TV. Is this true ?? Do any other clie models have the same option ??? I know the NX70 is offered for a good price at compusa, does it have a TV out too

the Nz90 has a special cradle that allows you to TV-Out.

Is this cradle an accessory or does it come with the NZ90

The cradle+cable come in the NZ box. That's how you change and sync...

That $420 price @ BB is most likely an 'in store only' price.

The video out cable is for still images from Photo Stand ONLY. No sound output.

you can always just use a Y splitter and use the audio jacks for sound output

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear...

Exporting the sound via the headphone jack would do no good, because you can't show the movies taken with the NZ, only still images. You might be able to have the audio player running in the background while you did your slide show, but that's it...

Thanks for all the answers, showing pics only is good enough for me, you see I teach in the university for a small group of medical students each week, I would like to stop carrying my laptop with me especially that there is a 29inch TV in the room and they are only 15 kids. I only need to show them jpgs.
As for the price, I have a friend going to Anheim a week from now, will the local BESTBUY stock the NZ90 for 429 there ?? I hope so. I dont want to convert to PPC after all these years of resistance just to show those students some pictures

i recommend you call them before hand and see if they have it available there.

if it isn't on sale, ebay always has good deals on new nz90's.

Does this mean that photos ( JPGs) NOT taken with the NZ90 cam but transported into the NZ through a memory card can NOT be shown on a TV. ( Sorry Cyberdoc I have to make before I shell out the money). Please someone answer TODAY

any JPG that you put on the NZ or photograph with the NZ can be shown over the TV. So yes, the NZ will show all JPG's over the TV.

Is Clie PhotoStand the 'only' app that I can use to output images to a TV or would another slide show app work?

I want to get rid of a lot of the Clie apps in ROM as they're virtually useless compared to some of the other apps that are available...

good question? the Clie Photo Album is virtually useless to me too, other than the TV function. I'd much rather a dedicated TV export/out application on our Clie that took up less room than the bulky robust Clie Album which I never never never use! If you create albums it starts sucking up tons of precious RAM!
