You can put your Streetfinder maps onto a MS, but I ran into a glitch doing that the other day, and emailed tech support at Streetfinder about it.
Apparently the current version will sometimes choke if the maps are on what they consider "high capacity" Memory Sticks (mine is 128MB and apparently falls into that category). The tech guy doesn't know what causes it, but says it's "being worked on."
BTW, it's apparently important that the maps be in the /PALM/Launcher folder or Streetfinder won't find them (no pun intended). Takes a little longer for them to come up and move around, but saves having some of the larger maps taking up RAM unnecessarily.
They also hope to have a new version out soon that will support Sony HiRes+ (320 x 480) and (probably) T3.

awesome. thanks for the info. i JUST ran into this problem on my 5 day old nx80v. couldn't for the life of me figure out why street finder was working fine until today. it just froze my clie. had to do a soft reset to get out of it. btw i have 1(one) 500k map in internal and one large 1.5mb map on my 64mb MS.

This happens to me sometimes also when using the CLIE GPS Car Cradle for my NX80 and I switch to a different map. It also uses Streetfinder and I have the maps stored on a 128M MS.

Just an update. I put Streetfinder and my LA map on the 128MB memory stick (which will NOT work directly) and now access them using Teal Alias, telling TA to automatically load the LA map when it loads Streetfinder.
Still not a satisfactory solution (the best will be a fix by Streetfinder, due out by the end of the year), since I can't choose other maps from within Streetfinder (I have to tweak from within Teal Alias and then reload streetfinder).

Put Streetfinder AND your maps in /Palm/Launcher on your memory stick.
Start Teal Alias and select NEW from the three buttons on the bottom.
The next screen (Edit Alias) will usually show you:
Target application:
-----------------------
Preferences (RAM)
-----------------------
Poke that "Preferences (RAM)" and you'll be taken to another screen (Select App) that will show you a list of files. To the right of that list, there will be a short stack of icons, at least one of which will be blue. That blue one will be your memory stick, so select that. If you're not in the /Palm/Launcher/ folder, poke at the list until you've moved to that Folder (the folder name will change at the top of the screen: (Folder: /PALM/Launcher
Select Streetfinder.prc. You'll be taken back to the Edit Alias screen. Alias will have selected a name for you already (usually the same as the program name but with an asterisk added, so Streetfinder will be "Streefinder*".
Click on Icon (next to Alias Name) and you'll be taken to the Import Icon page. You'll see the same list as before; just scroll down to Streetfinder.prc again and select that. This insures that the Streetfinder icon will show up in your home directory, rather than the Teal Alias icon.
After you've okayed the icon, you'll be taken back to the Edit Alias screen.
Next up is Launch Mode. I've left that "Normal".
Under Data Files, you have several options. I'm loading only one specific map file in this case, so I've selected "Load all listed" and then selected "Add Data" at the bottom of the page. That will take you to a listing of all the files in /Palm/Launcher/ again, and you can select the map (in my case, CA-LosAngeles.pdb) files you want to load. Under Data Files you could have selected "List All Found" and Teal Alias would have searched for any map files on the card and loaded them up as well.
That's it. Now there will be a new selection in your home icon directory entitled "Streetfinder*", and when you click on it, Teal Alias will automatically load both the application and any maps you selected to be loaded with it.
There's a beg screen associated with the unregistered version of Teal Alias for the first thirty days, and after thirty days it tags on a delay. The registered version just does away with that silliness and opens the application you've selected.
Any other questions?

:) Thanks David, your description is pretty clear and most helpful!
I had to put TaelAlias on my system and not on my MS (which I did), now it works fine.

For those with the car cradle, how does the GPS work? Is it fairly accurate?

Most GPS's in this category have accuracy that's driven by their antenna and how clear a view of the sky (the satellites) they can get. I have a Garmin eTrex backpacking GPS and have found that it has a hard time in canyons and under heavy forest canopy cover. Out in the open, however, accuracy can be to within ten to fifteen feet. I've found that the same applies to car GPS -- within canyons (downtown Manhattan, for example), they're spotty at best. But driving around towns with shorter buildings is no problem. Is that what you're asking?
