Hi,
I am a new owner of Sony Clie TG50. New to this site and forums. A Doctor by profession and Radiologist to be precise. I have a problem.
Previously I owned Sony PEG N610C. I have "Pocket Radiologist" software which I loaded into memory stick. With 610C, I used "pidirect" to read it off the card. When I tried to use "MS Autorun" supplied in the Clie CDROM instead of "PiDirect", the files were being loaded into Handheld and then read. My Handheld free memory used to come down and ultimately, when i try to acces 2 to 3 files, memory used to fall short. This did not happen with Pidirect.
Now I have the same problem with TG50. Is there a way out, or should I go for addon softwares like Powerrun? Are there any other options, freewares, that can do the same work as PiDirect? Sorry for the long letter and thankyou in advance for the help.

You could try just moving the files to the MS, and if that doesn't work, ZLauncher most likely will.

Plenty of useful posts here on that great launcher.

Yes, I'll second that. Zlauncher is not free, but if you are willing to take a little time to learn how to use it(very easy), and spend 12$ on it(come on, you're a doctor!) then you will be able to free up a lot of memory. It can put you programs on the ms and then copy them to ram when needed and then put them back when you're done. It also has a built in file manager, and many other great features...

Oh, and BTW, there is no PIdirect II or MSmount for os 5. The best you can get is zlauncher or powerrun(zlauncher is cheaper and way better, sorry hackerdudesan)

Doc,
In case it's not clear to you, ZLauncher gives you the option, per move, to move the program AS WELL AS its databases to the MS, or just the program prc itself. After installing ZL (30 day fully featured trial available), you simply tap and hold the program icon, which pops up a selection screen. You'd choose "move to card", then fine-tune your options per the next pop-up screen-- all highly intuitive. You can also opt to specify only databases larger than whatever KB you desire.

FWIW, I had used PowerRun, but abandoned it when this stellar move feature became available in ZL.

Let us know how you make out!

Hi,
Thanks for the effort. I think none of you understood my problem right. To move the files to MS, we don't need any launcher, Z or X or any other. Cliefiles application can do it very fast. With Pidirect, my applications (Data) from MS didnot copy themselves to Handheld. They are just read off the card.
