I just read a review that read:

"the UX50 has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth wireless networking, and the UX40 has Bluetooth. They are otherwise identical except that the UX40 has a silver bezel surrounding the display, and the three quick launch buttons on the bottom edge map to the standard PIM apps instead of Internet apps and calendar. "

Is there really any difference between the two models, except for one having just bluetooth?

From what I know, WiFi is the only difference...although I have never seen a UX40 before...not even once...

i think the ux40 is a slightly different color, isn't it? at least on the inside of the clamshell.

Here's what another review said:

"The main differences between the two models are that the 50 has WiFi (in addition to Bluetooth), it costs $100 more, and it has a metallic silver case whereas the 40 is gunmetal grey."

Anyone have pics of both?

So, anyone have pics showing the difference? Is it true about the 3 buttons?

It is true about the buttons (I've used both models). Check out Sony's demo for each on their website to see them. Not that it really matters much since you can re-map the buttons. The UX40 case color is very nice!

I also have a UX40 and if I can figure out how to get a picture on here I will post it so you can see it. As far as I know, the only difference is the WiFi.

Thanks. I did check out SonyStyle and they do show them as different coloring. I believe I prefer the UX50, but planned on that model anyway for both Wifi and Bluetooth, just to have the option of both.

Just thought it strange they are different colors at least on the keyboard and around the screen.

can you get spare part from sony (metal parts) and swap them, I'd love a gun metal UX50..

you could keep the black on the front of the screen (with the indicator lamps)

I only ask cause these parts have screws

Another difference is that the UX40 may not be available in some regions (such as Thailand, for example - which also doesn't have NX73).
