The new version of Colorize was causing me all kinds of grief this evening! Reinstalled v1.0, all is now okay. I am running ZLauncher with CDII skins. Be forewarned that this new version of Colorize may have issues that are detrimental to your Clie.

BTW, I have a NX70V

MegaLauncher 4.02 + Colorize 1.3 works great on my T625 .. especially in 16Bit mode. I had to ditch ZLauncher because I found too many compatibility problems with it.

Bad for me too. It was cool for about a day, but after I had some time to use my typical programs, it put me in a fatal reset loop. The only thing I could do was Hard Reset. Good thing I had a backup. I think it was the 16bit color choice I used that made things difficult. I assumed the NX was using the best color resolution.

Colorize 1.3 caused Maxilaris Note to be displayed incorrectly, too incorrectly to use. I'll stick with "Colors", a 7K app that resides in the Preferences Menu, to change system colors, I've never had problems with that.
I'm using ZLauncher with the CopperDeck theme on a T665.

Are you sure that you're not using "ColorTheme"?

I got exactly the same problem as you describe but restoring 1.0 seems fine with Maxilaris Note (apart from an initial reset caused by reloading 1.0  )

I can post Colorize 1.0 if you're interested in sticking with the earlier version.

No, it's called "Colors". I'll see if I can post it in the software section here at CS.

This is TONTATA's site, he has other Palm apps as well.

What are the compatibility issues beyond those with Colorize 1.3?

I agree with you that it might be the 16-bit option and then things went into fatal reset loop. For now I am back to version 1.0.

Thanks!

From the Colorize page at Palmgear.com

v1.3 (build 5007.2) February 7, 2003

Now you can also choose the default color depth for apps to use: 8-bit color or16-bit color. If Colorize is installed, then the color depth setting survives acrossresets (color theme settings always survive across resets, even if Colorize has beenremoved from the device).
(Note to those who downloaded build 5007 -- build 5007.2 fixes an incompatibilitywith Sony NX70 devices).

I am also curious about the compatibility issues with ZLauncher. I have only found one and it is with an obscure DA and only when launched with ZLauncher. Just a display issue, no crash. I am using colorize v1.3 also and have been through my entire collection of apps without any issues. Tried both 8 bit and 16 bit. Currently set on 8 bit since I can't tell the difference anyway. Only other issue with ZLauncher is the status bar clock stops updating if I launch any DA with ZLauncher. This one isn't really a problem, since I have another app I prefer for launching DAs. My Clie is a NR.

Okay, I missed that, I didn't know it was fixed on the same day. I have installed build 5007.2 now and I'll see how it goes. The other build sure caused me a lot of grief!

In any case Thank you, whoever you are:)!

I had the same reset problem and e-mailed Chris Antos... within 30 minutes he had created build 5007.1 and then 5007.2, which fixed the problem with the NX-70V. Amazing response time. Great product, great developer, especially considering it's freeware-- his support is better than a lot of apps I've had to pay for. If he ever makes Colorize shareware, I'll be first in line to pay for it.

I should also mention that if you get stuck in the fatal error loop, you do not have to do a hard reset. Do a warm reset (reset button + up arrow button), set Colorize back to 8-bit, then reset normally and get the new version.

I have had no problems so far with colorize 1.3 on my NX. I even tried to run every program i had on my ram and on memory sticks to see if there were any conflicts/problems and i have found none. if colorize isn't working for you, I used to use Khroma on my NX before colorize 1.3 and it also worked fine. I think i got it from palmgear.

I tried but couldn't get VG & bottom task bar back to navigate to Colorize. Warm resets have never worked for me that way. Am I missing a step?

<DIV>You can do a warm reset, which is done by holding the page Up button while pushing in the reset button on the backside of the Clie with the pin from inside&nbsp;your stylus. This won't load anything so there will be no Virtual Graffiti area either. Hit Ctrl-H on the keyboard, go to the&nbsp;Clie Files(file manager), then you can delete the desired application. Afterwards, you then need to&nbsp;do a regular reset by using the little pin from&nbsp;inside your stylus to push the reset button in the backside of your Clie.</DIV>

The problem was with build 1 on the NX, others seemed to have no problems. It was fixed the very same day I found out later after it messed up my NX.

You don't really need to delete the app. Once you do a warm reset, use the application launcher. When it boots, you will be left at the Prefs screen. The virtual Graffiti area will be blank, HOWEVER it is really still there-- you just can't see it. If you tap at about the spot where the Applications button would be, it will work. If you're running a 3rd party laucher like Zlauncher, you may get error messages, but that's OK.
