I doubt Sony will release updates though. They release a new model every couple of months...

I thought the ROM was not flashable for SJs sold in Canada and the US to keep costs down. They are in some countries to allow the different languages to be installed. This was in a thread I can't find now.

cass_m is right.

The rom in the SJ30 is mask rom, which can only be written to one time.
