Hi

I have searched the beard as recommended by the mods, but i could see any answers to this - and i applogies if im doing something stupid but heres the deal:

bought a second ahnd T675, which plays mp3/atrac
no software cd with unit or manual so im kinda going at this in a blind fasion (howvere i have owned a palm Vx so am ok with the general runing of the palm os)
i have a 4mb memory stick which i formatted and put into the clie, then rmeoved it and worked out that to be able to play mp3s they can vary in bitrate (to allow more tracks) but they need to be kept in a specific folder callled MSaudio or something like that.

I bought a MG white 32 memory stick as i use a NetMD minidisc player and though as i have convertyed a lot of my mp3s on my pc to atrac MDLP4 these small but good sounding tracks would be cool to pop across to my MG MS but i cant for the life of me work out why i cant play them, why i cant see my magic gate memory stick in sonicstage...i thought id pop the stick in, it would come up as a device like my netBD and id just drag the tracks across....then be able to just play them on the clie

NO SUCH LUCK!! ive even copied a test atrac file to the same folder that the mp3s woudl normally play in, the only thing i can think ive doen wrong is i formatted the Memory stick......if this is the case does anyone have the relevant files i need to put onto the mg memeory stick to be able to let it work with ATRAC files.....i coudl really do with the darn manual that came with the clie as this would probably describe what to/not to do......anyone help????

Sorry, despite the documentation to the contrary, it Just Doesn't Work. You can imagine how angry I was to be told this.

gxe900:

You should be able to see the "MagicGate device" no matter you have MGMS inserted or not (it will show "no media" if no MGMS inserted).

What's your SonicStage version? And did you install MS SCSI driver for MS Import? In you msg stated you haven't the CD, that means you didn't install MS SCSI driver, it must be installed to let Windows to read MS in CLIE as a removable drive...

And you formatted MS, you did it in CLIE or card reader? Try to re-format again in CLIE by MSGate..

Sorry guys am i right in thinking that I CANNOT PLAY MINIDISC OPTIMISED ATRAC FILES ON MY MG STICK? - if so what format of atrac file or rtaher waht settign should they be to play on the stick - so far all ive done is recompress some mp3 files to variable bit rate from 40 something kbs to 60kbs something - they sound ok, good enough to be on the move, but i was hoping to use the alradey converted atrac files.....ayway - the way ive been copying files to my MS has been via my MS slot on my Sony Vaio desktop, as a removeable device.

I DO NOT have the scsci driver or any of the CD software that woudl have came with the clie, as it was second hand i have nothing - and have searched the net with no luck - so if anyone would be kind enough to be able to make a Bin or cue file or the CD image i would really appreciate it - it annoys me that i cant find this software - afterall i could only use it with a Sony device - typical sony support i feel - rubbish!!! If not can someone point me in the direction of where to get hold of this scsi driver - as it stands i was hoping when i put the MS in the MS slot of my vaio it would come up as a removebale device in sonictage (verion 1 i think - ive downlaoade version 1.5 which has a far better aniated GUI but is flakey as hell, crashes all the time....)

thanks

MS SCSI driver mostly is device specific. You better to ask other T665 users who have the CD and send you the PalmDesktop (including hotsync driver) and SCSI driver. They are MUST have utilities for your CLIE... I've N760 CD, but I'm not sure that it works on T665 (although you stated is T675) or not...

The major problem of your case is, you haven't that CLIE CD...
