Now that the NZ is coming out soon, is there a chance the NX series could go down in price soon?

The two units are designed for different price ranges, so no.

Actually, the NX70 is selling at ubid.com for 479 (not auction) and doesn't say it is refurbished either.

The NX70 at ubid for 479 does indeed say Manufacturer Refurbished

Please look at the lower left corner of the discription frame.

Sorry

P.S. I had bought a Imac for my son from ubid a while back. It was Manufacturer Refurbished also. What I recieved was a dirty, scratched, with several personal stickers on it, Imac. My son choose not to return it. But I no longer buy due to my assesment and several friends, that ubid's definition of "manufacturer refurbished, is at best flawed.

Oh, I can't blame you for being upset at uBid! I bought my wife a NR70 for Christmas from ubid that was refurbished, and it seems brand new. That's my only experience with ubid, and I'm glad it wasn't like yours.

I picked up the NX60 at CompUSA yesterday for $430, they only had 2 or 3 left. It seems they've taken it off their web site today?

I've bought three manufacturer refurbished clies from them and all have been like new. I did have a problem getting credited for an item I returned. It took entirely too long, but mostly I've been OK with their customer service. One time I received a different model coffee maker than I bid on and they just credited my credit card for the entire amount and told me to keep the incorrect item. That was about $30 including shipping, which they also credited. You do need to be careful and make sure it says "manufacturer refurbished" and has a warranty from the manufacturer. Items just labeled "refurbished" are usually done by third parties and are frequently missing items such as documentation or standard accessories.

PS: I stand corrected, it is manufacturer refurbished. I hadn't noticed that. Sorry for the misinformation.:(

As noted here, CompUSA has been selling the NX60 for $429 for the past week or so, much lower than competing retailers. All CompUSA retailers in the Atlanta area listed it as either "Out-of-Stock" or "Limited Quantities." Also, as Terret noted, it is no longer available from the CompUSA web site at all as of yesterday.

So, I think something is coming to replace the NX60, but for some reason not the NX70V (the NX70V is still quite available, at $599). Perhaps Sony will be "re-releasing" the NX60 with OS 5.1 or 5.2, and it will show up back at CompUSA at full price... or maybe they are just discontinuing it already. I was planning to get the NX60 at that $429 price, but now I am skeptical about what Sony has in store. My two cents...

Anybody have some solid info on this?
