Folks,

Some of you have been playing around with TJ-35 for a week or so now. So, what is the final word???? Is it worth getting considering couple of obvious deficiencies compared to Palm T|E????

Anyone run into any problems????

Thanks

If you want a much brighter display, a medium-sized stylus, updated PIM applications and Documents-to-Go, then the T|E might be a better deal for you. If, instead, you use your own full-sized pen/stylus instead of the included ones, and usually keep your PDA's backlight turned way down, then the TJ35 gives you a faster CPU, a slightly thinner metal case and a serial port for $20 to $50 more. Battery life so far seems reasonable. I haven't tried Decuma handwriting recognition yet.

The headphone volume seems great, much better than the T|T, but you may want to check the speaker alarm volume, as there are reports that this varies from unit to unit.

*** I have changed my story... please, read my later post ***

The TJ35 is horrible. I do not recommend it. If you want a totally useless stylus, very dim screen, terrible selection of app's, etc., then buy the TJ35. If not, then wait till they finally iron out the bugs of the T/E or TT3. Maybe Sony will finally come out with a good TG50 replacement before then.

I already have a T|E. I am shopping around for a second one for my wife. I did not want to get 2 T|Es so I am considering TJ-35. My personal experience with TJ-35 in stores is being heavily biased because of my daily usage of T|E (BTW, I have lots of complaints about T|E .. but that is a different story!!!)

I must recant my story... I think that I am having second thoughts about the TJ35. I like it, but I am getting a second stylus that is a pen and stylus combo. Also, I was able to get a copy of the Sound Utility that I am hoping will allow me to use the alarms in DateBK5 normally. We will see. I do really like the quality and the screen brightness is not bad... I have noticed that this is considerably different for different TJ's... maybe a quality issue. I am not sure. I will tell you more later.

I know it sounds like I am vascilating... because I am. It is much like the family member that you love so much you almost hate them when they are not doing what you want them to do. I know it is not fair.
