Hi there,
My mother is planning a trip to the US and I'm seriously thinking about asking her to bring me back a NX80 since we can't find it here in Europe.
Still, there's a couple of things I'd like to know from you 80 owners :
1. Does the 80's Decuma allow accentuated characters (é è ô etc.), i.e. is the latin Decuma the same worldwide ?
It seems to be, but I'd really like to be sure on this
2. When i take a picture using my NZ90 there's something like a one second delay before the shot is actually taken once the "capture" key is pressed, while this was immediate with my former NX70. Does the NX80 have this delay too ?
3. Videos with the NZ90 sux : far too much aliasing while things were smooth with the NX70, how 'bout the NX80 ?
Many thanks

I'm not sure about your last 2 questions, but I do know that decuma lets accentuate.

Meir87 is correct about accented characters. Decuma Latin has a setting that allows you to enable character sets for German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish. You can turn on the ones you want and leave the others off. For example, as I rarely use accented characters (I'm in the US), I leave all of them off. This helps to improve character recognition since stray marks don't get mistaken for accents.
You can also re-train what you need to.
As to your other 2 questions: I don't have a NX80 (I have an NX73), so I can't give you a definitive answer. However, I don't think you'll get much better videos. However, they might "look" nicer (although be smaller). The reason: the camera on the NX80 has a lower resolution than the NZ90. As for a pause, I don't recall hearing that this was a problem with the NX80.

1.) Yes
2.) Yes -- there is a delay. I don't know why.
3.) For some reason, Sony did not take advantage of the NX80's higher resolution camera when it came to Movies. I believe they wanted to allow people to be able to take as many movies as possible. Basically a quick and dirty movie. The size/quality is equal to that of using Image Converter to convert a movie to MQV format to the lowest possible quality (Smalles file size). It would be much better if Sony would have put a bit more effort into the app and allowed users to specify the file size/bit rate of the recording themselves, rather than just give them 1 option.
2) Perhaps it is focusing

Focussed is fixed surely? A multi-segment lens with motors would be seriously expensive to incorporate.

There is no Auto-Focus or optical zoom in the digital camera in the NX80.
I do not know why it has that delay. However, I have played with a few other other camera-equipped devices and they all have the same thing. The UX50 and Zire71 I played with at CompUSA, my Nokia 3650, and my friend's Sony Erricson T616 all have like a 1 to 2 second pause between when you press the capture button and when the picture is actually taken.
It's not a big deal most of the time. Since I know that it's there, I plan my shots accordingly.

Yes. As others have indicated, you can write accentuated letters.

The delay is rather minimal. The recyle time is about 2-3 seconds.
3. Videos with the NZ90 sux : far too much aliasing while things were smooth with the NX70, how 'bout the NX80 ?
Remember, the NX80 has a 1.3 MP camera, so do not expect great things from the movie recorder either.
Many thanks
Overall, the NX80 is a wonderful machine.
