Is there any way to control the timeout on WiFi hotsyncs, with the transfer of large .pdb files? I switched to iSiloX as my news reader and it produces single .pdp files containing the news. The UX50 times out when hotsyncing with these files.

I read that this was a possible bug on large transfers before...

If so, I wonder if they can/will provide a fix? Hopefully sooner rather later!

i had a timeout (hotsync via wi-fi) as well when i tried to install the dictionary (~8mb) and thesaurus (~4mb) for mobipocket. As soon as I get a timeout the first time, I tried installing them individually, but still got a timeout...therefore means you would get a timeout even trying to transfer (install) something at 4mb.

fortunately, my vaio z1 takes memory stick pro, so i had to install the dictionary and thesaurus onto memory stick.

has anyone else have problem installing/transferring large files?

I installed the 36MB unabridged dictionary from Palm Digital Media without any problems.

It even hotsynced back in the BackupBuddy backup.

I think there's two types of hotsync transfers, the first which displays "installing,..." and the second that syncs a file. The latter appears to timeout.

Well, my datebook.pdb file is so big that my wifi hotsyncs are now crashing on synchronizing my datebook!

That sucks.

It's not turning off. The hotsync connection times out. The logs show this when synchronizing TV Browser's .PDB file to RAM:

HotSync operation started 11/21/03 07:15:22
Unknown error reported by PalmPilot (10006410).
MS Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
HotSync Error: Connection is lost (6410)
HotSync operation complete 11/21/03 07:15:51

And the log shows this when synchronizing the Datebook:

HotSync operation started 11/21/03 07:13:59
- Installed file: C:\Program Files\Palm\PhanguR\Install\Home.pdb
OK Install
Unknown error reported by PalmPilot (10006410).
HotSync Error: Connection is lost (6410)
HotSync operation complete 11/21/03 07:14:31

Yeah...it's something Sony should fix. WiFi timeouts don't occur using SMBMate.

Anyone find a workaround or fix for this?

I can do everything via WiFi except hotsync... Bah.
