I know I've seen it posted before but I'm not using the correct search string to get it, soooo, the CF slot on my NX80 gets stuck quite often and won't close. What do I need to do to close it without breaking it?
Thanks,
Greg

I'm not sure what "home-brew" solutions exist out there, but if the CF door isn't closing when the slot is empty, it would seem to me that your only recourse is to send it back to Sony for repairs.

PS - How long have you had your NX80? How often do you use the CF slot for WiFi or CF storage? When using the slot, do you leave the card in for extended periods of time, or do you always remove the card after you're finished? -- I'm just trying to get an idea of your usage patterns.

Greg,
If the 80 is the same as the 73, there are a couple little plastic levers in the "rails" that the CF card slides into that lock the door open when a card is inerted. They're spring-loaded and should pop back out when removing the card, but I can see where they may be troublesome if a bit too much dust gets into the mechanism.
The door is built much like a miniature camcorder tape door, with an aluminum and plastic scissor-pivot mechanism on either side.
Try this at your own risk!!!
If you can locate those levers, try spraying some electronic cleaner on them to wash any dust buildup away. I would avoid using any type of lubricant (like WD40) on it as that'll just make the dust stick to it that much more.
BTW, nice Jeep! Yours? I love those old rigs...especially before they turned into those "a little of this, a little of that" machines. :D

Thanks for the info.
Yes, the Jeep is mine. It's been a long term project. It's a great stress-relief.
